Initial Creation Date: Jun. 29, 2020
Published: Jul. 20, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think Carolina should upgrade their goaltending. They have great defense and a pretty deep offense. They're a goalie away from being a contender. Jarry looks like the real deal and fits their age group nicely. Bean is a tough loss, but with Carolina constantly bringing in new defensemen, I think it's a necessary move that's also a little easier to make.

Dont trade anything to Pittsburgh

Keep Foegele and Trade Dzingel.

Sell off Gardiner.

Get Lehner or Raanta.

Win a bunch of games.

I don't think they do.

Bean won't be protected. Seattle probably grabs him.
Foegele ain't bad. He'd be a nice addition. But I don't think he's worth both.

Historically speaking, the Canes don't give a rat's ass about dealing inside the division. They made three separate trades with the Rangers in one season, for example. I also don't want to sell Gardiner or Dzingel unless one or both really kill it in the playoffs. Again, never ever sell low. Run with a jacked left side if you can't deal guys without needlessly dumping young assets.

Foegele is better for our system and cheaper. Rangers trades I get it. Outside of the Fox trade, we werent giving up a NHL regular. We dont want to give Pittsburgh a guy like Foegele. Sure a prospect that is having a hard time making the squad (like the Kuok and Gauthier deals)

Gardiner doesnt make the left side "jacked" he makes it more expensive for no reason. Despite his xGF, he isnt a positive addition to the team. Need to sell off Gardiner and Dzingel to sign Lehner. That way we can undo the entire mistake that was the 2019 FA period (not signing Lehner and signing Gardiner and Dzingel instead).

You just contradicted yourself LMAO. He is a positive addition to the team by definition of his xGF and Corsi metrics. By February he was really meshing into our system, and I'm hopeful for him to be a factor in the playoffs.

no i didnt. Even with his xGF he is still a negative player. Needless to say his fumbles, bad plays in his own zone, and in his inability to use skating to make up for his mistakes.
