Probably more like Mitts, 2021 1st and Pilut/McCabe with a conditional pick if Danault resigns

Small detail you can’t add conditional picks based on resigning of players according to the updated cba agreement. That being said could tweek the deal or to get around it sign then trade.

Holy Black Jesus, that is way too much for Danault.

Stl is not going to give us Allen for Hutton.

Wait the CBA got rid of any picks being conditional or only picks whos conditions relate to the signing of a player within the trade before the expiration of his contract

As good as danualt is offensively, he is even better defensively

I mean he isnt that good offensive. He is okay. If we are moving 1st(s), they should be going bigger.

If not, give up a middle round pick for Bozek, or any other player that is going to need to be moved due to cap space. Then in 2021/2022 see if Cozens is ready for the NHL.

edit: I just saw danualt is a rental. Hell no. This team is no where good enough to be moving 1st round picks (plus) for rentals.

Fun fact: Danault had a better 5v5 point rate than Jack Eichel

Fun fact, a good portion of a NHL game isnt played at 5v5.

Cozens is ready rn, but not to be a C, and with this trade he doesn't have to be

Danault is far too valuable to MTL to be trade for some "maybe" pieces.

Miller has 2 years left, maybe he makes a shows out maybe not, thompson was starting to show something down in the AHL, and the 1st is on its own already a really good piece

Danault is our #1C, and the cornerstone of our defense. He gets 50pts while playing mostly defensive missions against all the best lines in the league. His line is one of the best at 5v5 - His underlaying numbers are incredible. And he gets a couple selke votes each year.

A meh top 4 RHD, and ahl player and a dubious 2021 first is not what we are looking for here.

Cmon. Let's get real here...And Im a huge Habs fan and Danault fan, but...
"As good as Danault is Offensively" Are we watching the same Danault? He doesn't create anything and he has no shot. ALso pretty sure he's only ever on the PP to win FOs

I think you’re discounting a bit of what Danault does. Sure he’s not exceptional at anything offensively, but he’s solid doing what he does to help the team score goals. Sure he’s never going to shoot like (insert whoever the habs best shooter is here) and he’s never going to thread the needle like Drouin or Suzuki, but he’s good at all the small things, which helps elevate his linemates’ games, which helps make the TDG Line as good as it is.*

*Speaking of which, we need a name for the line.

The habs aren’t trading Danault, end of story. He is the 2nd most important player on our team, and we would be completely lost without him.

Umm... ok. Danault also plays on the PK and PP, so I don’t see your point.

Yea I agree. I still struggle to see him as a number2 center though. Maybe I'm too harsh.
Don't get me wrong I think he's a great centerman and a great Hab. I just think teams that win have 2 centermen who can get more than 50 pts a season.

yes, but 5v5 is a pretty dumb stat, mainly, but not limited to, tje fact that points count the same on the power play as they do at even strength.

PP points are also way more reliant on the teams system than 5v5
