Don't do the Montour trade. Pay Virtanen and Stecher $2.75 million each. You'll have 22 players and still have some cap headroom.

Absolutely it's a decent team... but it's one that's going to be in a real cap crunch in 2021. If they're going to pay a team to take a cap dump then it has to be one of Eriksson, Beagle, or Roussel out the door.

Buffalo will take Beagle or Roussel if you get them to waive NTC

I think Roussel could be a great target in Buffalo’s bottom 6. Vancouver would probably take anything for him if he waives

I’d actually be sad to see Roussel go if he does get moved, I like his game. But salary has to go in VAN

There’s always this salty Teams’ fan that always comments something negative about other teams offering deals. For Vancouver it’s you. For Boston, it’s BCarlo25. For Detroit it’s DetroitRedWings58

They don't really "need" to move Eriksson until 2021. Nor do I think it will be possible to do so without paying through the nose for it. In 2021 Eriksson only has 1 year remaining with a $4m salary ($6m caphit) which would make him much easier to dump.

In the short-term they can probably get by simply by resigning their UFA's and getting rid of Baertschi's $2.3m 'dead' caphit. If needed I'd try to move Sutter as well, even with some retention. That can save at least another $2m.
