I had no idea what he was going to be able to get, so good for him for getting a decent payday despite everything going on.

This is fantastic for both parties. If he is able to continue playing, the Flyers get a great top 6 winger for cheap and if he isn't, the organization did the right thing and took care of one of their players.

His treatment is done and he has been skating. Has been on the ice for about a month.

That's amazing! It looks like his career is gonna continue where it left off, and I am very happy about that.

As for the contract, it's a tad risky given what Lindblom just went through, but if he's anywhere near his old form, it'll look like a massive steal.

It’s great that he was able to pull through this and get a good paycheck

I hate to be the pessimist but can someone explain what he’s done on the ice to earn this?

Or is it in hopes that he will grow and become a steal on this contract?

He was on pace for a 50 point year...i'll take that at $3 mil per every day of the week. He has got better every year he has been with the team.

He was leading the team in goals and playing top line minutes with Couturier when he went out. Realistically, I see him slotting with Coots and TK for a line that matches up against other top lines leaving some other guys (Giroux, Voracek, JVR, etc) to take advantage of lesser opponents.

Good for him! Has got to feel great to have legitimate professional support after such a traumatic health experience. If he gets back to where he was and continues improving, this turns out to be a steal for the team as well.

Makes me wonder though, what they'll do with Patrick.. Has he recovered yet? Will he? And will he try to get similar money?

Besides his draft pedigree I haven't seen much from him yet at the NHL level.

Wish the best for Oskar. I've seen the worst of what happens to certain patients being a Medical Scribe and working with oncologists occasionally. The type of degrading and unfortunate processes these patients have to go through is very difficult and especially to go through it, come back, and play competitive hockey is very admirable. I wish him and his family well.

I voted no because I thought it needed to be a 1 year deal. Unless the question mark was removed in the organization then it is a good deal. If not then it is a bad deal.

I said I was one of the ones that hit no on here.

Why would you commit 3M for 3 years for someone who isn't healthy? Not to sound insensitive. It's common sense.

I stated above that if the organization knows something we don't like if he is cured/healthy then it is a good deal. If not, it is a bad deal.

Of course he can ride LTIR, but is that really practical if you know the person could possibly be riding it most of the time on his contract?

In my opinion, a one year deal made way more sense. Hopefully he is cured/healthy.

That kind of stuff might be a bit above your comprehension level though.

They wouldn't sign him to a 3Y deal if they weren't confident/almost sure about that.
