Change Johnsson to SDA and remove the 2nd going back to Toronto and the Kings would probably go for that.

i thought the kings would prefer to keep walker and send roy. Either way i agree remove the 2nd and Johnsson replaced with SDA would make it fair.

I would prefer to keep Walker over Roy, as I think the former has the higher ceiling. I don't know that the Kings would agree with me considering the season Roy just had. Value-wise, I think both guys are worth the same, so either defenseman would work.

Not a fan of moving kappy. Would target a just a Dman. Even if a player like Johnsson was moved for futures and then flipped.

Not a fan of either team, but I honestly like this a lot. Makes sense on both sides and the value is pretty good.

Leafs RW depth takes a bit of a hit - I see why trading Kapanen isn't ideal. I think the Leafs are more well-rounded as a result of this and the Kings get two middle six wingers with 15-20 goal potential.

Leafs RW depth is non existent beyond Kapanen. Korshkov is the closest but he's a fringe nhler

Completely agree that this trade is a hit to the Leafs depth on the wings. However, I think that's also where they are the strongest when it comes to NHL ready (or at least NHL-time-to-prove-it) players. There are a handful of wingers, such as, Korshkov, Barabanov, Agostino, Petan and the list goes on...that have to step up. The cap situation for the next couple of years will be restricting any kind of movement for a minute munching NHL caliber RHD. This move is more a one out of cap stress than anything else. It rounds out an otherwise rough spot on the roster. I'm fully expecting Keefe to ride his top 9 and cut 4th line minutes. Giving younger players an opportunity in what seems to be a lesser role but at the same time benefiting from pro practices and some game action. When injuries happen to the top 9, those are the guys that will be ready to move into key spots to pick up the slack. If nothing else, it gives management an idea of which players are ready for larger roles.
