definitely would be funny to watch and see how keefe and him got along, but in the tight cap road ahead, retained salary will come at an absolute premium for everyone. just a thought for future agm's with player retentions

I think it is possible that they reacquire him and then trade him with his retention somewhere else to free up that extra 1m Toronto is carrying.

IMO, Kessel found his ideal team when he was a Penquin. He's on the downslope now and he may not be a bargain even at 4.8m. Kapanen and Kessel offensive stats were similar last season
