Vegas wouldn't trade for Mrazek when they could sign Khudobin.

Seems like you've given Dallas way too much cap and poor long term value in the players acquired.

The part of me that loves Benn doesn’t like it, but realistically I really like this for Dallas. I think Staal and Nino fit our system a million times better than Benn and Pavs. We can play Gardiner in a sheltered third pair role. Love Reimer. This also gets us out of Benn’s contract which isn’t going to age well, tho I do think his offense would pick up some in a more offensive system. I don’t think Carolina does this deal tho do they? Dougie is gonna cost more than 7.5 million. Hopefully Svech takes a bridge. I still feel like it’s rough for them long term

I doubt Staal would ever waive his NTC, on top of the fact that our front office would never take on Benn's contract. I like Benn a lot and I think he and Pavs would bring some much needed leadership to the younger Canes core. I think it is time to move on from Staal as C. There are trade-offs on both sides and I think there are huge benefits for both teams in the end.

I would do it but it could hinder re-signing Hamilton and Svechnikov.

Same term. Maybe we retain some?
