Devils would offer a 3rd for Maata. Desperate need for vet left D.

NYR pass. Georgiev is a starting goaltender and is 23/24 right now. You are offering a bottom 6 ahl player and a 5th thats a joke. He is worth roughly a low 1st right now.

Agreed. Would take a big offer to move Georgiev.

I'm going to agree this isn't a good offer, but disagree his value is a low first.

    Here are my two reasons.
    1. The free agent market is in favor of buyers, not sellers this year. This should drop his value, at least in theory.
    2. Team's need players on ELC to help adjust to the economic fallout of this season. This draft is deep, and I think teams hold onto their firsts this year for that purpose.

No need for Beaulieu, De Haan was playing well in the top 4 and Carlsson is great on the 3rd pair.

Want to add on to this to say that their might not even be a CHL/NCAA/USDP season this year. And if there is there will be a limited # of people that are able to attend in person. So not only is this years draft deeper than next years, but it's going to be a lot harder to scout which should make picks this year that much more valuable

You will need to pay more than an AHL player to get the Sabres to take on Smith. Would have to be a part of a bigger deal or you will need to give up something of value. If that is not worth it then keep him or buy him out.

Good ol ”deep draft, teams hold on to their 1st”
Teams that already have traded their or a 2020 1st:
    Boston
    Toronto
    Carolina
    Vancouver
    Tampa (traded two 2020 1st)
    Arizona
    Islanders
    San jose
    Pittsburgh

That’s more than 2019 draft and we haven’t had the draft yet

I guess you’re just going to ignore that I specified that teams will want to hold onto their firsts because of the economic impact of the pandemic. All trades that included a first rounder this year were made prior to the pandemic, and many of those teams you mentioned have protection on their picks.

This draft class is supposed to be strong, that is widely agreed upon, add that to the cap crunch many team's will be facing and you probably don't see many firsts dealt for expensive veterans.

Also, let's say he was worth a late first round pick, which team in the late first round needs a goalie enough to trade a first rounder for them? I would think many teams late in the draft are set on goaltending next year.

    Sabres fan here
I think we’d pass. I know we aren’t giving anything up,
but i think we rather play cheaper young talent

Nah, I actually think the flat cap is gonna force one 1st or two to be traded to offload salary

Anaheim has nine, count 'em 9, LDs under contract or in the pipeline expected to play in the NHL. Wed don't need Slater Koekkuk at any price.
