This is why I shouldn't read these at 3 A.M. I thought it said Zadorov for Detroit's 2021 1st rd pick...

Calvert is such an important part of this team. He won't be traded for late picks

No way PHI accepts that it's not even close to fair

We aren't getting a 1st from a rebuilding team for Zadorov. That pick could easily end up being 1st overall, Zadorov doesn't have anywhere near that much value

Avs lose that MTL deal. Lindgren is trash, Brook doesn't look like any special, and a 2nd isn't enough to make up for the value. Francouz is signed to a super team friendly deal and Compher is a solid 3rd liner.

So, I don't know if you have seen an RFA trade before, especially when the team cannot afford to sign them. Between 2009 and 2016 the HIGHEST return was a 3rd, and most trades were a 7th. I can only presume that you were very confused because 1 and 7 look so similar and selected 1st round pick when you intended on Zadorov for 2021 7th.
If not, as with many of these ridiculous deals, a variety of teams just makes an offer sheet offer at a level that you cannot afford, because you have $350k cap space, you cannot match and you get back at most a 2nd.

We dont want your trash to be honest

Francouz will be forgot about in 2 seasons as is the way with 75% of back up goalies in todays NHL .
MTL is a goalie Factory with Primeau here and ready to play Tandem with Price .

Brook started out the year really rough but was the top D for the last 2 months before the pandemic.
The man who drafted PK Subban pointed out the simularities and how it took PK 4 years to develop into anything of value .

We're good
Lindgren was an undrafted pick up who costs us nothing and added depth
Brook was one of the WHL's top offensive D and Skates better then any prospect we have

i wont even speak on Compher its a waste of everyones time like talking about trading Weal

That’s a hard pass for the Flyers. Jost is enticing but joins a logjam at LW and C. I’d be interested in Erik Johnson for someone like JVR but not for Provorov. Never going to happen.

Good summary, I agree with all that.

Overall these moves just seem so perplexing. There's absolutely no need for a team that's firing on all cylinders to have this much turnover. Losing Johnson, Compher, Jost, Calvert, Zadorov, and Francouz is like 1/3 of the roster, and several of those are big characters and leaders in the lockerroom. This looks like a video game roster.

As for the contracts, Hall @$8.9m is too much for my liking. The other signings just make this roster look older and slower.

What would you offer for Jost?

Do you for example have any D prospects that might be surplus to requirements given that you're super deep at LHD?

The Detroit trade for a 1st is ridiculous. But Zadorov's RFA status shouldn't lower his value too much as long as GM's know what contract he's asking for. Colorado also aren't pressed for capspace so they aren't trading out of desperation.

Forget the 1st because that is obviously out of touch with reality.

What exactly are the Habs gaining in that deal? They send a potential top4 D man to Colorado for garbage… makes a lot of sense

Thanks for commenting from Detroit's point of view, but let's be realistic with Detroit's luck in lottery drafts it will be no higher than 4th.
