The oilers don’t need more LHD we’d rather have bear and the first.

Well Everyone one of these teams can definetly use a top pairing LHD by the end of the offseason.

BOS for example could lose both chara and Krug potentially

CAR was for more of a TML need but Mo fits the style CAR plays with high intensity and strong puck moving

CHI if They want to try and squeeze another cup out of the Kane and Toews Era

EDM can be interested Depending on how Broberg and Bouchard perform

FLA could look for a change of scenary on the blue line

LA could look for a long term solution on the LHD especially if an extension is in sight

NSH was more of a TML idea and would not see this happening unless instead of Fabbro its Ekholm involved

Rangers have the opposite problem as the leafs as they have no LHD and All RHD

and STL could look for a way to solidify the top 4

Even if forget about broberg and bouch for a minute oilers wouldn’t pay a significant price for a LD with klef and nurse in town. Broberg and jones pushing for more time on that left side just makes it absolutely crazy to even consider.

Oilers wouldn’t want him. No offence to him as a player is fantastic but already dealing with a log jam of promising youth there I won’t start any debate suggesting that youth is better but it’s far too good to block the progression of them

Yup. We need all of our top-4 RHD and we already have 2-3 top-4 LHD with another (Broberg) coming very soon. Zero interest in Rielly.

I just wonder if some of those trades overvalue two years of Reilly before he hits UFA

as a boston fan you didnt take into account mcavoy needs a new contract in 2 years too. now you end up paying both top line dmen? and they lose their best center prospect to replace an aging bergeron and krejci? i mean "creativity" doesnt matter when you dont match the needs of the other team. not to mention if the LEAFS were starting negotiations with the bruins the price would increase regardless due to in division rivals. I just dont know why you would bother with this one as it truly would NEVER happen.

I wouldn’t be surprised in a year or so bear and nurse hit the trade block due to broberg and bouch coming up. It’s only a matter of time until some tough decisions need to be made but that just further points out spending assets on d right now is an incredibly huge mistake.

Not a chance if I'm GM. Broberg and Bouchard, if they play fewer than 10 games this summer, have THREE YEARS on their ELC's. There is absolutely zero reason to trade anyone. IF they both keep developing at their current rate we'll end up with something like this:

Klefbom - Bear
Nurse - Bouchard
Broberg - Larsson
Jones

Based on say a $2M x 2 bridge for Bear, this corps sports THREE 1st pairs (if they continue current trajectory) and a 2nd pair spare for just $18.6M - that's incredible value. No way am I trading any of these guys.

I agree with you to a certain extent I like the idea of three pairs you could be rolling out at anytime not reliant on one pair to play 25 min a night. I do like how you balanced those pairings with experience and youth that is the only reason I’d consider Larsson on third pair If rolling fairly even minutes amongst all pairings which in your case there is doable.

What about Domi, CHiarot. Poehling, 2nd (10M) for Reilly, Kappy, Kerfoot (12M)
Domi would be a better TOPLW fit with Hyman...and Chiarot is a great defensive bigbody LD/ If you prefer one year of Petry with 2M retain instead that could work to.

BUt at the end NO WAY TOronto is trading Reilly

think of morgan rielly as a top 15 D man so put these trades in perspective with that information.

That is a wicked user name, that is all...

the creativity police have arrived

Its not about the creativity, its about the value.

You have it all over the place.

Sayin that him for Parayko 1 for 1 is ok, but then him for Carlo and Stucnicka is also ok, thats giving him two wayyyyy different values

Its just a little weird

(bruins would reject so quickly by the way that offer is just insulting)

Ellis Is elite offensively and defensively. He’s a top 5 RHD in the league right now.

Ekblad you’re right , but Marino provides more value than rielly. He’s elite defensively and is pretty solid offensively. He’ll be the pens #1 D next season.
