I don't see any reason why PHI would want to move Couturier anyway

Ummm I’m not sure what that oilers trade is but I highly doubt Edmonton would even do a 1-1 for nuge. They don’t need him nor should be looking to make a deal for a significant add like that. They got a solid young team not Gunna blow that up for one player

It fair to ask for a ton in exchange for Couturier but that Florida deal is ridiculous. Barkov is better and younger than Couts. They aren't adding.

if edm doesnt do that 1 for 1 for nuge, thats simply stupid no other way to put it, leon can play 1st line lw with connor full time and couturier is way better than nuge, i agree the package is too much, but for 1 the oilers should take that

Columbus isn’t trading their best forward and their best D for 1 played.

Also the extra player is going the wrong way in the Florida trade. Barkov > Couturier

Avs trade would be a NO given that this trade doesnt work with the teams current goal to win a cup now.
The trade doesnt make sense as COL wouldnt want and move 2 top 6 F when they are currently attempting to add 1 top 6 F to their existing roster.

**** thats alot to give up for a guy that will be 28 by the time the season starts back in December and has never put up a PPG. As great as he is defensively you could go after Eichel with these packages

I wouldn’t say way better. Nuge provides Edmonton a huge level of flexibility and they would just have no reason to consider making the move. He’s got chemistry and plays very well with both Leon and mcdavid.

TB would consider it, given how much cap savings they get in the deal. Not sure they'd give up that much, especially since they probably view Cirelli as a future Couturier that they've drafted/developed internally.

CGY would consider working on something that involves Monahan, but there's zero chance a 1st rounder is included on top of Bennett. Monahan + Bennett is already too steep from CGY perspective: Monahan is 25 years old; Couturier is 27. Both on very good contracts.

Do you really have FLA adding to Barkov to get Couturier? Barkov is 24 years old, and a better player...oh, and he's their captain. Couturier + 1st + Frost might get a conversation open. Even then, I think FLA declines and opts to continue building their entire team around Barkov.

Lol, put down the crack pipe son.

Couturier is good, but he's not worth Kadri + Landeskog + 1st, not even close. As for the rest of these trades, at a glance I don't think anyone accepts since Couturier is just signed for 2 years.

That's a tough one from the Flames perspective. Couturier is by far the better defensive player, but they're probably pretty close to even offensively.

Part of me says adding the 1st and Bennett is worth getting the upgrade defensively, but he's also 3 years older and a UFA a year sooner.

The two years of $2 million cap savings would be nice too.

Tough call really.

Surprised you guys think so. Cirelli is a comparable Selke-calibre C who's younger and team controlled for another 4+ years, compared to 2 years of Couturier. On top of that the proposal suggests adding a good RHD prospect, a top 6 forward (albeit something of a capdump), and a decent pick. Tampa would never agree to this.

Yeah I agree. Of all these trades the Flames one is probably the one that's most intriguing. Couturier would help Calgary become much more difficult to play against, but then it would come at a pretty steep price.
