Avs are a no

Tampa is a maybe

Agreed, and Tampa's is mainly because they shed salary.

If Montreal was a contender, the value there might make some sense as well, but I doubt they'd ever do it. 2 x 1st+2 x 2nd is probably reasonable.

I'm a Flyers fan and I would take Barkov and Tippett in a heartbeat lol. Not a chance Florida does that.

Surprised you guys think so. Cirelli is a comparable Selke-calibre C who's younger and team controlled for another 4+ years, compared to 2 years of Couturier. On top of that the proposal suggests adding a good RHD prospect, a top 6 forward (albeit something of a capdump), and a decent pick. Tampa would never agree to this.

My thinking is; Tampa is in it to win it now and Couturier is currently in his prime (27yrs old). If they place Stamkos back at centre, you're laughing with Couturier playing the third line.
-- Substituting two players for one helps cap wise
-- Who cares for the pick, it's late round, it's defnitely below 10% chance of turning into anything, and certainly not in the short-term
-- Cal Foote doesn't jump as someone who can be a 'great' prospect; he's looking to be a bottom 4 . His younger brother seemed like the far more interesting potential, and yet Tampa had no issues trading him away, because they are 120% all in to win now

The difference between Cirelli and Couturier isn't worth all those assets though. They might as well just roll with Cirelli as 3C if that's the role they have in mind for Couturier.

What I'm more concerned with is the fact that the value Flyers are receiving in these trades is different in almost all trades.

Take the VAN and FLA trades for example. Horvat+1st is much more acceptable offer than Barkov+Tippett. The FLA package is three times more valuable than the VAN package.

I'd agree for the longterm. But Tampa has so much depth -- you can't treat their acquisitions like other teams -- else it's just a rotation of players and the team levels at the same strength. Even if you think Couturier is only slightly better (I think you still do that trade).
Couturier + Point on the same team... Tampa could potentially have two players in serious Selke conversation. (Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe MTL was the last team to achieve that with Gainey and Carbonneau)

Ummm I’m not sure what that oilers trade is but I highly doubt Edmonton would even do a 1-1 for nuge. They don’t need him nor should be looking to make a deal for a significant add like that. They got a solid young team not Gunna blow that up for one player

Whaaat? 1 for 1 you would be absolutely insane to not take that

Nuge doesn’t get a lot of attention because Leon and mcdavid kinda take up the headlines in Edmonton but nuge is right on level with them as a core player.

coutuerier is a two way beast so he has more value than RNH so probably RNH and a prospect/ a first for coutuerier

Sorry to the fans of other teams. Some of these are ridiculous and I love Coots and think he is definitely our best player overall. We have zero reason to move him anyway. Coots,Hayes and Frost down the middle and if Patrick returns he can play 3RW.....decent depth in my opinion.

I don't understand the apology?? It was just a Would you/What if trade scenario for arguably the best two way player right now. Not to mention this is just for fun.
