Description
Buyout Rask no one will take that contract in the flat cap world if someone does wild will do it.

Cheap prove it deals for Kunin and Greenway everyone else gets a slight bump but nothing big

Sign Soucy to longish term 2.5x4 as he is a UFA

From Colorado send Tyson Jost as he seems to be on the out in Colorado/won't be able to break into the top 6. Donato is a versatile forward and will be cheaper and I think fits better than Jost in Colorado. The 4th is added in Jost is perceived to have the higher upside. Then Sign Jost to a prove it deal similar to Kunin and Greenway

I think Chicago really needs defense especially a top pair/4 offensive RHD like Dumba, and Strome has been good but has had a down year and still hasn't lived up to his draft position. I think a second and a third add to the value of Dumba whose contract I think will be more valuable.

As for who makes the team I think Strum makes the big club this year, with Hartman being the extra forward.

For defense I think Belpedio makes the team with Hunt as the extra, and Mennel as the first call up

Goalies I think the wild have to roll the dice, I think Dubnyk will be better next year especially when Stalock takes his job for the playoffs and I think Kahkonen needs some more time before he becomes the starter in 2021

Roster also maintains cap space for the big Fiala and Kaprizov deals coming after 2021

Hawks don’t take that deal. If anything it would be a deal for Brodin but we aren’t paying all that for Dumba

Hot Take - Hawks need help defensively, however their blue line is fine.

If Colorado trade Jost, it will be to upgrade one of the forward roster spots (whether that is from the return on Jost or in a separate trade), and Donato is not a piece that Colorado would be interested in, particularly as we have Kaut on the way.

Jost would be a fine target for Minnesota though, since he can play 3C and also has 2C upside. Give him a chance in the top 6 and he might just break out.

Jost's value is roughly a 2nd + 3rd, or a pick + prospect, but there aren't really any prospects the Wild have that look to be of interest, so the return would ideally just be purely picks based. Being a division rival it's probable that Minnesota would have to overpay a bit to get a forward with 2C upside from us. We could get a 2nd + 3rd or something around that from teams in the east, so if you want him you'd likely have to beat that somehow.
