Team: 2020-21 Tampa Bay Lightning
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 23, 2020
Published: Jul. 23, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tampa will be losing a good player next year in expansion draft. By moving Killorn and lsoing Cirelli to offer sheet, team is under cap for 20-21 season. Look for Tampa to use 2021 2nd rd pick to lure Seattle to pick Tyler Johnson in expansion draft. This helps free up money for Point extension.

So is that supposed to be compensation for an offersheet? If so it would be with 2021 picks and it would be minimum a 1st and a 3rd. Cirelli isn't going anywhere unless teams offer him 5.5+

Sergachev isn't getting a dime less then 6m and we all know it.

If Cernak is offered 1m I'm sure he signs a 4m OS with Winnipeg or Toronto instead.

Cirelli will get a 1st and a 3rd from his OS.

Where's your logic on that number? Flat cap post covid world. State income. Plenty of reasons he comes in lower.

EvolvingWild which has been quite accurate (even in low-tax states) puts him at 6.5 x 8 yrs. 6m is reasonable given the new circumstances

sorry, yes it would be the 2021 2nd rd pick. Cirelli will only get bridge deal offer from Tampa since this is how they work. If he gets an offer in the $4 million range on a 5 year deal I think he takes it because he will not get that from Tampa. Also he had a good year this year but any team signing him long term is still taking a risk.

Tampa has too many good young players and they will lose one or two this off season, that is the cost of being good and developing properly.

Cirelli will take 4-4.25 million on a 3 year bridge in Tampa. If he were given an OS at 4 million for 5 years and took it, Brisebois would do his very best not to openly cheer on camera as he matches in seconds.
