Two questions:

1) Can Graves play the right side?
2) What would range would his next contract be for a bridge deal (2-4 years) or a long term deal (6+ years)?

Colorado is the only contender that have the cap space for him...Pietrangelo won't have a lot of offers due to the flat cap and will probably prefer 8M in Colorado than 9-10M in Buffalo/Ottawa

Maybe but he isn't on long time plan so i'm ok with lower picks for him

PIT declines. We already have Dumo-MP-JJ on the left side

Maybe, TBH it's just to get something for him and it could be any team. IMO he could be a great fit with Pittsburgh on a cheap contract to add a bit of thoughness that they lost since they traded Oleksiak.

Players wont have the same power of negociation with a flat cap, there's not enough cap space in the league for all the expiring contracts to have a salary raise. A lot of players will be forced to take a discount if they want to play in good teams. But if it's the only problem with this team I can see a Matt Calvert trade for a late pick to clear a bit of cap space and give a bit more money to Burakovsky, Nishuskin and Virtanen.

The value is definitely there! I'd like a guy like him in PIT (or even Oleksiak back) but sadly I think the odds are JJ getting dealt are next to none..
Admittedly, while most wouldn't consider JJ "tough," all he really is useful for to us is hitting and blocking shots.

No thanks on Pietro, we can get the job done without him and that massive contract anchor that comes with it.
Hard pass on Byfuglien.
No chance Virtanen plays on the second line ahead of Bura or Rakell.
No chance Grigensons plays ahead of Bellemare.
And honestly given the production and tool kit that Calvert brings, he may get the nod over players like Kaut and Jost right now
