I perfectly know Turris isn't the player he once was, but I certainly don't believe he has that ,much negative value. Remove the 2nd rounder at least, especially NSH retains on him. Honestly if NSH adds a 1 mil retention, the trade (if Wood goes the other way) should look like this:

Turris (1 mil retained), Davies, 2020 2nd rounder, 2021 2nd rounder for Wood.

Davies more or less equals Wood

Hard pass on your offer. Remember that we're talking about 5 mil in capspace (and salary!) for 4 YEARS.

Cap savings of $575k on Sorensen isn't worth paying a 4th round pick to move him. Can just bury him in the AHL for a year or play him on the 4th line for that amount. That said, someone in the east will see a speedy 3rd line winger that had a bad year (shooting percentage was an anomaly to the rest of his career) but is cheap in a flat cap world and give SJ a 3rd or 4th for him.

NSH will happily keep Turris. Buying in out is MUCH more palatable than this offer. The Preds will take their chances on a bounce back season. He was on pace for 41 points playing with mainly 4th liners. Now with hynes, he's getting time with Duchene and Granlund. He should get 50+ in a more prominent role pretty easily with players like that.

Nashville spends the extra 1M and buys out Turris and keeps the picks/prospects. His contract is fairly easy to buy out. Yes it's a caphit for a long time but spending assets to get rid of his contract is bad asset management.

I understand that this is a lot to give up. But NSH does still better here than buying Turris out.

I don't see how. It's a TON to give up just to save less than $3m in cap. Buying Turris out if need be, is much preferable to throwing away Davies and those picks.

How? We lose a lot of futures that we can't afford to give up 'cause the pool is so thin. Those are kind of worth something - and I assume you know that, or you wouldn't be asking for them.

Sorensen and a 7th for a 4th is respectable. Not sure why this is the other way around.
