Suggestion: make the protected players the roster. Put exempt players as LTIR and exposed players as scratches.

Your allowed to protect 7 forward + 3 Defense + 1 goalie OR 4 forwards and 4 Defense + 1 goalie. You can use the expansion draft tool on this site to play around and see who to protect and who is exempt. Also a way to protect wanted players is to allow them to go to FA then resign them but this only works for UFA's

Yea it’s 7 forwards and 3 defense so we’re fine, trouba, lindgren, and Deangelo ( or if he gets traded his replacement). Offense- Panarin, zib, chytil, kreids, Buch (if he’s not traded as well), Lemieux, and either strome or goat
