Even if Krug doesn't return, I don't understand the Gustafsson signing. He is great on the PP and can produce offensively but he sucks defensively/doesn't fit with the system/team. Just move up Grzelcyk and play Moore/Lauzon/Zboril/Vaakanainen/even sign a depth LD for the third pair.

Agreed with literally everything else.

There is absolutely no reason to sign gustafsson. If the bruins let krug go its because they want to let one of their young LD into the lineup.

Miller is done.

I was a big time krug critic for his defensive ability. Totally different player the last two seasons.

I still dont think hes good enough defensively to warrant the contract hes about to get.

Not at all, Krug isn't as bad as Gustafsson. And #47 is an established player.

Correct on all points. And Miller wouldn’t for that low amount either.

Eh, i think he would. He’s got 2-way contract written all over him.

Ignore thre guys saying Miller is done. He is in serious talks for a two-way deal that would allow him to come back if hes healthy

In saying that, if Krug doesnt come back, bruins dont sign Gust at all, just worthless, he have plenty of LHD

Also you arent getting a 4th for Moore, maybe a 5th or 6th or 7th

Overall: Good Job!

If anything I think Miller signs as an extra dman. League minimum and very good in the locker room. Would also be able to jump in for at any time when needed. This is all contingent if he is deemed healthy.

I'm a fan of Gustafsson. He'd play the Krug role (to a lesser extent) and I believe he'd sign a 2 year deal. Short term deal for a proven PP guy seems like a low risk, smart move. Bruins can't just rely on a young player ie: Lauzon/Vaak/Zboril for an entire season. Need depth.

The depth is John Moore. I would rather have Vaak or lauzon than gustafsson at the same price.

Could be. But lets be real here, Gustafsson is way better than Moore.

Duh. You said depth. Is gustafsson your depth?

I think your right. Miller may get some interest elsewhere. Hes a pretty decent piece to have laying around. Guss makes a ton of sense if krug walks. Hes a poor mans krug as it is and he did have 60 pts just a season ago.

Among the 217 D pairings that logged at least 150 minutes of 5v5 TOI this year, the duo of Lauzon + Grzelcyk ranked:

1st in xGA/60 - 1.41
1st in hi-danger scoring chances allowed /60 - 5.54
3rd in goals against/60 - 0.92

Nice little tidbit about Grzelcyk-Lauzon
