I like the idea of trading Rielly, Kerfoot and Engvall, not adding anything of consequence, and still having very little cap space.

I also like the idea of the 2 PP Ds having a grand total of zero seconds of NHL PP experience, while Sandin is scratched because he holds his stick the wrong way.

Seeing there was a trade with NYR and waiting to see if it was going to be Tony for Rielly....
But Rangers flip Howds for Engvall for sure.
Also the fact that TOR cap'd their way to potentially having to trade their number 1 D-man makes me lol

Why would we though? Howden still has upside and Engvall is a winger who doesn't have room to play on either side? We can't make this deal.

I guess if you think Howden might still become a capable center. He was awful at center this year, and although better on LW Id have to think Engvall is better in a bottom 6 role...If my bottom 6 LW depth could be:

Lemieux
PDG
Howds

OR

Lemieux
PDG
Engvall

I think the second one looks better. Howds is slightly cheaper and younger but I guess Im not too confident in his upside at the moment. Especially considering were probably pushing for playoffs hard next year

22 years old. They don't magically stop developing. Kreider struggled in the AHL at 21. I'll continue to bank on him.

I could see the argument that way too, I definitely don't think you're wrong. Howden just didn't help his case much this season. If we hold on to him I would love to see him turn the corner into a shutdown center

Howden wasn't given a real chance playing in the bottom six. Praying Strome and Fast are gone so Kravtsov and Howden have a real opportunity.

It's just depth, but everything I have read on Barbanov is that he is a RW - hasn't played a lot of left. And rumoured this week Korshkov is close to signing in KHL.

Updated with a different link than original that I saw: https://theleafsnation.com/2020/07/26/rumour-korshkov-to-sign-in-russia/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook

It was a Twitter feed from yesterday (not sure of the account) - Lokomotiv Yaroslavl in contract talks with Yeleshin (CAL) and Korshkov (TOR) over contracts for next season was the jist.
