Oilers decline. Nuge will be next to impossible to pry from Edmonton not to mention as good as dumba is oilers don’t need him nearly enough.

Edmonton won't do that. I'd love it, but I know they won't. This for a couple of reasons:

1.) They don't need RD right now unless it's a sure fire star. They're already doing a good job developing what they currently have at RD and Dumba is more of a reclamation project right now than a star. They'd rather save the cap hit and develop what they currently have in their system.
2.) RNH had a fantastic season. He's really rounding into a really good 2-way center. Really good 2-way centers are hard to find. When you find one, you hold on to them unless you receive an amazing offer.
3.) After last year, their values went in opposite directions. Don't get me wrong, I still think Dumba will return to 50 pt form but recent memories of him cast doubt. Therefore RNH is highly more valuable than Dumba is.

Because of the reasons I stated above, RNH won't wear a Wild jersey unless we make an outrageous offer for him.

No thanks.

Why wouldn’t NYR take Greenway for Georgiev? Shesty will be your starter, and Georgiev is a more definitive starter who shouldn’t be a backup. Do you think more picks are needed?

Understandable, agree with your points and makes total sense. Seen some other centers thrown out like Cirelli, which would be nice but RNH seemed better to me, Edmonton has a good one on their hands. What do you think of the other trade, Georgiev for Greenway/Dubnyk? One sided for MN or?

I would love Greenway but it simply goes down to our depth at W. We have filled wings and need C's and LHD's. trading from our tandem would hurt for a player who will not be a regular. Also, NYR can't afford to extend Greenway and eat Dubnyk's deal here too.

I think it's one sided towards MN as well. I think Greenway for Georgiev straight up is much closer in value but the cap dump for Dubnyk means we have to add. They are in a similar predicament to us in regards to the fact they have too many goalies that are NHL ready. If they were to take on Dubnyk's contract, they'd want to be compensated for it...at least in my opinion that is

We have similar problems in that regard. I just don't see Rangers and Wild being good trade partners this offseason.

Yeah because we both need the same things and our strengths align.

Yep, and the advanced metrics back up this statement. He is really bad.

I think the plan for the Rangers is to keep Georgiev as a backup until one of the other goalie prospects is ready. Maybe 2 - 3 years. Would the Wild do a Lias Andersson for Greenway swap? Would they need to throw in a mid level pick?

tbh I can see a trade with Minnesota. I just don't see it with Georgiev. Wild probably sees Kaaponen as the long term goalie. Dubnyk needs a buyout or some team to take him on somehow. Stalock is also pretty terrible, Minnesota isn't going anywhere with either of those 2 getting 30 starts or more. Which is all sad because the Wild are a great team in every way except goaltending. I could see Guerin dealing for a 1 year stop gap to mentor Kaaponen while keeping the team competitive as long as it doesn't cost much of anything in assets. Lundqvist would work really well there. Could see something around him at half retained for an expendable bottom 6 F like Hartman. Rangers would probably throw in a smaller piece to make it work. But something like that makes sense for both teams. But statistically the difference is absolutely massive.

100% agree on the assessment of our team. And if that's the route Guerin wants to go, I'd have no complaints. I like Hartman but he's expendable. I'd be on board for that. However, still need to find a way to move Dubnyk or else we have 4 goalies that are NHL ready.

Don't see New York taking Dubnyk back in that trade. But Greenway and a 5th are all I would offer for Georgiev.
1 Wild have Kahkonen
2 Georgiev isn't really a stud, great back up probably middle of the road starter.
