Jest decline. With his defensive issues deangelo isn’t worth that much and even if he was, the jets don’t want him. We need defencmen who are too in their own end. We get enough points from our back end and are only due to get more with niku and heinola coming up as full timers soon

What's with these contracts that are reasonable contracts. Tampa just matches and trades him to another team for more than the offersheet compensation.

To be honest I’d rather see deangelo for hanifin type of deal instead of going offersheet route.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that if u match an OS u cant trade the player for at least a year

OTT is not desperate to rid themselves of Gáborík's contract because it costs them nothing. So forget that part of the trade and give us something useful for taking Smith's contract.

Never said it was. Just used him as a filler and if a third doesn't suffice we'll send him elsewhere.

Lundqvist and Smith don't waive for Ottawa, just because you want cap space.

if you bother reading you'd notice one of them isn't being trade and Smith has a M-NTC. I'm going off the asumption he'd be fine going to his hometown team.

I would assume in his last NHL season, he wants a change at a long playoff run.
