The Devils don't want Risto. If they do move a 1st rounder it's for someone on the left side.

That's a pretty good trade value wise with Calgary, as long as we can get Montour extended for $4.5 million or less, which shouldn't be a problem.

It does raise expansion draft issues though, if both Dube and Thompson have strong years next year we probably lose one of them or Backlund.

He's not atrocious, he's an offensive defenseman, that hits and who is a RHD. His defense isn't great but he's a good PP QB and physical and not slow moving.

You'll never get a first, a second and an NHL player even if he's a bottom-6 forward for Ristolainen. Be satisfied with a second and a third or a second and a good prospect.

he doesn’t QB PP he literally just stands in front of the net while olofsson and eichel do everything but okay. risto would rather cross check a man in the corner while the puck is being centered in front of his own net. you want him on your team? you can have him! you want to give up a first for him? be my guest!

How is acquiring mediocre picks for Risto going to help us whatsoever?

How is continuing to play him on one of your two first pairings going to help you? Especially at that cap hit?

If they would actually play him on the 2nd pairing he’d likely do far better. I’m just not interested in throwing Risto away like a cap dump
