Building Around Tim Stutzle

Created by: Bbpagewolf
Team: 2020-21 Los Angeles Kings
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 25, 2020
Published: Jul. 25, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I predict that the Kings will take Tim Stutzle with the 2nd overall pick as he has a higher ceiling than Quinton Byfield. They will also be extremely active in free agency adding veteran experience to both build around Stutzle, Kupari, etc. and be more competitive this year. Cal Petersen wins the starting job over Jonathan Quick.

Sabres won’t but out Okposo this year, he’s still a really effective 4th liner. Overpaid yes, but he’s still productive in the role he plays.

unless oilers are desperate for space to make a big move this offseason, the buyout for neal would not happen until next year where it makes more sense financially.

Not sure I would retain half salary on Moore but if it's the only offer, do it.

Tim Stutzle said that he's playing another season in Mannheim in the DEL. So i even doubt he's playing in the NHL next season. Unless he changes his mind.

The Sabres don't get much cap relief for buying this player out and having him on the cap for 6 years is too hard of a pill to swallow.

Bruins reject,

if we r gonna trade him away, we will just do it for a 6th without retaining lol

Also, we dont need any more bottom 6 forwards, would rather just get a pick for him at this rate

Agree. I don’t get why ppl assume that these high first round picks can just easily transition from playing in the German league at 18 to top line NHL over the summer.

Look at Hughes and Kakko (last years 1 and 2). Both going to be great players (could argue they were more hyped than Stutzle) but still weren’t ready for first line responsibilities in their first NHL season right out of the draft

Stutzle isn't NHL ready and when he is you certainly shouldn't play him on the top line, maybe 2nd or 3rd is better for him. The player you will build around is Turcotte, then Stutzle. Heck we don't even know 100% that LA will take him. More likely they take Byfield

Would you? Just send him to the minors. Almost the same thing.
