After expansion

Description
This illustrates how much money the Jackets will have after next season and how much of a need for a 2C is.

Few things to note:
1) Wennberg may or may not be the expansion pick.
2) This also shows why the Jackets can very well be big players in FA this summer or next.
3) I made sure not to bring back any UFAs. Now the Jackets may end up bringing Foligno back.

Fat chance Seattle takes Wennberg IMO he's got pretty much no offensive upside. A guy like Bemstrom or even Nutivaara would be a way better pick

First read the description as I noted that he may or may not be the pick. Second, the Jackets would likely go with the 9 player protection format because any of the forwards that can be exposed that aren’t locks to be protected are expendable. Under that format they would be able to protect the 4 defensemen. Third Bemström is not eligible to be selected.

Korpisalo is the goalie protected (Merzlinkins is exempt). I’d bet that Seattle takes a chance on Murray because he was a huge fan favorite from one of the jr teams in the area. He’d come in and create a lot of buzz for them right out of the gate.

I hate to rain on your parade, but...
If Bjorkstrand lights it up next year, he will make more. Much more. Werenski & Jones will eat up a majority of the remaining cap space in Summer of 2022.
Not to mention Texier & Bemstrom with their bridge deals.
