drop the 7th and Avs accept. I would prefer 2020 picks but its understandable that most teams would offer 2021 so thats fine

If that’s all it takes to sign Namestikov I think the Avs would give him that.

That's too much for Kaprizov. He looks like he will be a stud but he hasn't played a minute in North America yet. You are giving two picks that should get you similar level prospects and Zacha on a good contract.

Agreed here. No doubt that he’s got talent, but I don’t think he’s the guy I’d mortgage a roster player and theee future higher end pieces.

I’m curious why his value isn’t more along the lines of Gusev. Admittedly, I haven’t seen Kaprizov in action, but the stats are similar (although Kap is younger).

Kaprizov is bigger scores more goals and will be RFA when his ELC expires not UFA. I agree that he appears overvalued on this site

Kaprizov hasn't played a lick in the NHL. He's probably the best prospect that hasn't played in the NHL but this is way too much for him. That being said, if we did trade him this is about what I'd expect for a return given his potential. Devils should easily decline

Lol, first time I've ever seen anyone on this site deny a trade because of a 7th round pick.

wasn't exactly going for realism here, just wanted to acquire a bunch of high end Russians. I agree and I wouldn't want NJ to do this, just didn't want to hear "that doesn't get you Kaprizov" or "Wild GM blocks your number" 50 times in the replies lol.

I think he probably seems overvalued because he's their only real high value piece in the organization and virtually no MIN fan would want to give up the most promising young player they've had in a while

Very doubtful Wood is just a slightly overpaid bottom 6 guy which Oilers don't have the cap to add

The value is close enough, a 7th isn't worth much but it seems unnecessary here. If everyone threw in 7th round picks into every trade it would add up over time

Yeah there's no reason for that 7th to be included. Other than that value seems fair. I think Sakic will want a 2020 2nd though, even if the secondary pick ends up being lesser than a 3rd, like a 2021 4th or something.

It's just a pointless addition because it's not really counter-balancing value or something like that.

It would make more sense in a trade like Colorado did with Florida (Brassard + 6th for 3rd) or Toronto (3rd for 6th to balance Barrie+Kerfoot for Kadri+Rosen), where the late round picks were clearly make-weights in a pick-swap. Here it just doesn't serve a purpose.
