Sabres make that trade if they cannot find a better 2C option for center. I think you get more for Sttome though. I doubt Dylan Strome signs a multi year deal with you to take his brothers spot in the lineup

Both STINK for us. AG is worth Strome
ADA is worth a top 15 pick

Strome is worth a pick from 27-33 or a mid pick plus other stuff

The unhappiness is a curious example of our bias, we are far more exposed to players and prospects of our own team, so unless theyre good enough to have a good reputation, theyre going to be undervalued. Its why trades involving picks are generally easier, as they are more consistently valued.

I truly dislike that bottom 6. Really am not a fan of Howden. He’s fine for a 4C, and if he’s a solid 25-30 pt 4C fine. PDG is a 4th liner if he’s an NHLer. Kravtsov 100% should be in top 9 if PDG is.
We still have no idea which sucks about Chytil, is he a W or a C on this team? I personally still am confused with Ryan Strome value and I may be bias as a NYR fan. His first year he was on a 40 pt pace had he played a full season and last year with Panarin he put up 59 pts in 70 games. We know that Panarin was a huge part of his production, but we can clearly all agree Ryan Strome is at least a 40 Pt 2/3C at the age of 27. I personally don’t know that value trade wise but I’ve seen people on many posts or this mention he’s worth an early 2... not all picks pan out, that’s why it could be my bias but he’s worth a late 1 imo. I also don’t think Dylan Strome would refuse to sign here bc it would mean his brother got traded. It’s a business and these players know that.

Chicago rejects, ADA does not fill any needs (and needs to be paid based off one good season), I might consider Georgiev for a second if Crawford retired.

I think this trade ages poorly for Chicago, and I don't see a way in which Deangelo has nearly as much value on a prove it deal next season.

If Gorton wanted Thompson and offered Strome, I could not turn it down.
It will take a few shekels to sign Ryan, but I would love to see him center Skinner and Kahun.
While Skinner is not Panarin, over the last 5 years Artemi has only 5 more goals than Jeff.
Even though the NYR PK was only marginally better than the Sabres, Ryan was one of their top pk forwards.
I think he would be a great fit for Buffalo and it would give the Sabres two good scoring lines.

My question is not what it takes to acquire Strome. There is a reason why Rangers fans are happy to get rid of him with no succession plan in place. He is completely dependent on his linemates to drive play as is Skinner. Panarin drives the play on that line. Strome can be a nice complimentary piece but unfortunately he is likely to be paid like a play driver. That is my hang up his contract demands. If we could get him somewhere in the 4's on a short term deal I would be all in but at 5.5 over 5 he is going to likely leave us wanting more based upon that contract.
