I figured Zacha could be a stop gap until Cozens is ready for that role

you're getting 80 points from these two combined next year if not better, without giving up any significant roster player and losing an awful contract in the process. Vancouver 1st could be thrown in provided something else was coming the other way too. might not be exactly what you're looking for but it's not a horrible trade for the Sabres, it's not like you guys have been hitting on your 1st round picks recently anyways.

I love the trade for the Devils...the Sabres might do the trade to contend so Eichel doesn't request a trade out of Buffalo

Devils have nothing realistic to send for the 7th without it simply being a case of Buffalo moving down in the draft. Palmieri, Zacha, and either Van or Arizonas 1st for the 8th and Pilut is fair imo if you want to move up 5-10 picks

Palmeri is obviously a good goal scoring winger we could use
But there’s absolutely ZERO chance Buffalo would trade a top10 pick in this draft for a guy who likely walks as a UFA after next season

And he doesn’t fit our timeline as a guy we should wanna re-sign either, since he turns 30 early in the start of next season

The value of this trade is fine
But when u think about where the Sabres are at,
it just doesn’t make sense for us
