I’d accept buffalo deal the rest pass on making those deals. Kerfoot is an ok depth winger playing c. Not a good upgrade on this team not at the cost of larsson. Tampa deal very little interest in Johnson unless sending close to equal money going back which obviously isn’t happening with Tampa. No idea why Edmonton looks at that Detroit deal

Detroit's not trading their only Goaltender get real here, And Tyler Johnson doesn't want to play in Canada. So he's not waiving for Edmonton.

But it gets Larsson off the books. Leafs say no for cap reasons.

johnson's cap hit is just way too much for the oilers considering they have key fas to sign as yamo, nuge
The value for that toronto deal is good but leafs say no since they are trying to get some cap space
i know kass's contract is gonna look bad in 2-3 years but I wouldn't pay a first now for a team to take him

Keefe didn't play Kerfoot at 3C. Didn't you watch any games?

Johnson is very close to the Oilers Kailer Yamamoto. I wouldn't be surprised if he waived for Edmonton - I just don't know how Edmonton fits him under the cap without making a bunch of bad trades.

That Detroit trade is laughable. Edmonton isn't trading their 1st and a productive player for a pending UFA goalie and a 2nd.

Keefe mostly played Kerfoot as a LW for Tavares, at least in 2020: 228 minutes with Tavares, 152 minutes without him. Of course, those 152 minutes weren't all as a center as Kerfoot also played ~20 minutes with Spezza, ~20 with Matthews and ~10 with Gauthier.

In reality Kerfoot spent about 25% of 2020 at 3C. Which means (a) he's expendable, and (b) the Oilers don't want him.

@Skyraider112

Kassian and Chiasson are worth their contracts, I'm not sure why you're dumping them like last night's leftovers. Just look at their last 82 games:

Kassian: 82, 22-22-44
Chiasson: 82, 15-18-33

Those are fine "full season" numbers from both players in context with their contracts of $3.2M and $1.9M, respectively. And considering that most of Kassian's production is 5v5, I'd say his is a value contract. Since January 1st 2019, Kassian scored 25-27-52 at 5v5. Only 28 players in the entire league scored more in the 1.5 years since then. Twenty-five is also the exact same number of goals Barkov, Nylander, Eichel and Skinner have scored in that span.

Kassian's 52 5v5 points rank him 52nd in the league, tied with Oshie and Debrincat. Jack Eichel has 53, although he played nearly 200 more minutes than Kassian (1714 vs 1523).

so let's pretend that those minutes all with tavares and Matthews weren't just him playing up the roster because the leafs had significant LW injuries (they were) and say that keefe did it because non 3C reasons, ok, whatever. Every minute with Spezza and Gauthier he was the C, every one of them. Spezza is a winger who basically takes faceoffs and gauthier just isnt playing C over Kerfoot.
so, by your cut off with Keefe, which conveniently hits the spot where the leafs lineup depth was chaos and ignores the babcock usage when everyone was healthy, We can say that Kerfoot is a 3C who can also play in the top 6 LW spot!

So in reality, he's (A) not expendable unless the leafs get another 3C and (B) I dont care if the oilers want him, the leafs dont want Larsson
All the other minutes, he was the 3C
