Seattle Kraken- Using Vegas to show trades

Created by: firezfurx
Team: 2019-20 Vegas Golden Knights
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 26, 2020
Published: Jul. 26, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades

2.
VGK
  1. Heinen, Danton
Additional Details:
Heinen is a solid role player. As a rebuilding team Anaheim doesn't have too much to offer anyways.
ANA
3.
VGK
  1. Crouse, Lawson
  2. Hjalmarsson, Niklas
  3. 2021 4th round pick (ARI)
Additional Details:
Crouse is a solid young-gun who hasn't really lived up to expectations yet so this could be a good change of scenery. He has excellent size and power and is on a very team-friendly contract as well.

They also pick up Hjalmarsson as a 1-year cap dump who can bring veteran leadership.
ARI
4.
VGK
  1. Bjork, Anders
Additional Details:
Anders Bjork is yet another good young player who would benefit from a change on scenery. I think Seattle could look at Zboril or Senyshyn or maybe a vet but taken the proven player in Bjork makes the most sense.
BOS
5.
VGK
  1. Montour, Brandon
Additional Details:
Montour is a big name who could bring some stability to the blue line. I'm guessing the Sabres protect Dahlin-Joker-Risto which leaves Montour an easy choice. Of course if Risto is moved by then this won't be an option but this is the choice for now.
BUF
6.
VGK
  1. Bennett, Sam
Additional Details:
The easy choice, Bennet is a great 3rd liner who can kill penalties.
CGY
7.
VGK
  1. Koekkoek, Slater
  2. 2022 3rd round pick (CHI)
Additional Details:
Kraken agrees to not take Murphy and is paid a 3rd.
CHI
8.
VGK
  1. Graves, Ryan
Additional Details:
Easy pickings considering Johnson had a NTC.
COL
9.
VGK
  1. Niederreiter, Nino
Additional Details:
This may seem weird but here me out: With Necas and Bokk and Svech solidifying the top-6 it makes sense for the Canes to try and hold onto their defense.
CAR
10.
11.
VGK
  1. Pavelski, Joe
Additional Details:
Stars protect: Seguin, Benn, Radulov, Guriyanov, Hintz and Dickinson. Provides Stars with cap relief as well.
DAL
12.
13.
14.
VGK
  1. Acciari, Noel
  2. Matheson, Michael
Additional Details:
They agree to take on Matheson's contract in exchange for Acciari

19.
20.
VGK
  1. Ho-Sang, Joshua
  2. Komarov, Leo
  3. 2020 3rd round pick (NYI)

I get Pavelski and NN and a few other might be unrealistic but I'm sure deals can be made around those pieces

I would be surprised if sea takes on that much term and price tags of some of these guys, Vegas got quite a premium for some of the term they took on and also took a lot of guys, just eligible and a lot of potential over many vets with term and price. Not saying Francis is going to do similar, but his work in Carolina leads to believe a strong blueline with some strength at Center and rotating tenders. But we will see, tough to call this far out.

Matheson I don’t think would cost Acciari to Get, he’s solid, Just on a Questionable Contract(He was neverous when he signed it) To where if it gets BO, everyteam would maul on Him to try and get him
If I was Seattle I’d take Borgstrom over Matheson, not by much though

It would take a very large asset for that to happen. Probably Joker.

It wouldn't cost that much, top pairing dman for 2 years of Okposo? Probably a 1st, or maybe two 2nds.

I'd say that's what Jokers worth

Better than even money COL asks EJ to waive and protects Graves because Seattle isn’t picking him, especially when two of Donskoi, Compher, Nichushkin and Jost will be available along with Francouz. COL if their smart accepts they lose a player but only one.

He's not even on the AHL team lol, you are not very smart.

SJS has nothing of value lol

Says the Leafs fan whose team hasn't even gotten out of the first round since 2004. It's pretty despicable with all the "value" the Leafs have.

Brendan Perlini isn't going to be re-signed by the Wings this off-season.

Danny DeKeyser is the name you probably can pencil in (unless he continues to show the inability to stay healthy. Having been limited to 8 games last year and having back surgery, 52 the year before and 65 the year before that). He'll be 31 by then with 1 more year at 5M. If they pass on DeKeyser, Givani Smith a 4th line grinder or Taro Hirose an undersized 3rd line sniper with no defensive game are probably who the fake octopi get to choose from as Detroit will protect 2 of the following: Evgeny Svechnikov, Givani Smith, Dmytro Timashov, Christoffer Ehn, Adam Erne, Taro Hirose.

No way they take Oshie.

too old. WSH would have to cough up a lot to move that contract. It's one of the worst in the league.
I don't see them taking long term contracts on older players. That model is dead for most teams.

I've seen articles where they say choice is 1)Michal Kempny, 2) TJ Oshie + a high pick. With a flat cap Seattle might be able to extract a haul similar to Vegas during its expansion draft. Kempny has been hurt so much who knows how he'll come out after next season.

Yeah I don't think Sakic would waste a protection slot on Johnson. He'll find a way around that.

- Mackinnon, Rantanen, Landeskog, Kadri, Burakovsky, top 6 forward acquired in 2020, Nichuskin (protected due to lower caphit than Compher/Donskoi)
- Girard, Makar, Graves
- Grubauer
Exposed: Compher, Donskoi, Jost (if not traded before then), Johnson (waives NMC), Francouz.

Best way forward is probably to just let Seattle take their pick, but Sakic might pay them something to steer them away from Johnson or Francouz. A 1B backup signed for $2m in 2021/22 would be pretty hard to replace, unless Annunen is ready, and it might be worth a 3rd to keep him over Compher/Donskoi.

The Carolina selection is interesting. The obvious selection is Bean or Skjei, but Niedereiter would be a solid selection as well.

With Krejci being UFA, Bruins likely protect Bjork. And Ritchie/Kuraly/Wagner are available among forwards; Lauzon/Clifton, Grzelcyk (if Krug re-signs) on D. So they can still take a good player, unfortunately.

Detroit wont be losing Perlini, Because Perlini isn't getting qualified. So Detroit will be surrendering another player other then Brendan Perlini.
