Tampa is making a trade that takes cap space. Easy decline.

I think Cernak is a bit overrated on this site and may not be as good of a "shutdown defenseman" as many believe. He plays with the best defenseman in the league in Hedman and while he is Hedman's stay at home guy, Hedman is much better defensively than Rielly. It'd be like a less skilled forward group adding Hyman expecting the same results, the reason he works on the team is his role within the line he is on

Honestly the defense man I would want out of Tampa is Foote. Kid has a shot that bruises goalies. Cernak is also a good choice but away from mcdonagh and put with less defensive rielly I don't know

Except Hyman has the results he has because he's one of the only hardworking, relentless, gritty Leafs lol. That's why he fits so perfectly with a combination of JT/Marner, 34/Marner, Jt/Nylander or 34/Nylander because he does things the above don't do. At all.

Tampa would want nothing to do with AJ's contract. This move just makes their cap situation worse, unless they're flipping AJ.
