Would it have gone in if it weren't for the contact, though? I think they made the right call.
Teravainen left the crease, then Rask proceeded to kick it in his own net. If they were going to call a penalty on Teravainen I would think it weak but it would be fine, but any contact he made with Rask had absolutely nothing to do with the puck ending up in the net.

But otherwise Rask may have been able to keep it out of the net after he kicked it ... but idk, I'd have to watch it again.

Basically, this is what I saw:
1. Rask gets bumped, the puck gets in his pads.
2. Teravainen leaves the crease.
3. Rask moves around to try and find/stop the puck because he doesn’t know where it is, and inadvertently puts it in his own net.

I like the bruins but i find myself cheering for the canes for some reason.

But Rask wouldn't have been in that situation if it weren't for Teravainen. I really don't believe it would have gone in the net if it weren't for the contact.

I used to think the Bruins were your favourite team (because of your username), and then about a year ago I found out it was the Leafs, and now I just learned the Bruins are your 2nd favourite team ... unless you cheer for the Bruins and Leafs the same. I think my profile says the Islanders are my favourite team and the Rangers are my 2nd favourite (or maybe the other way around), even though they're in no particular order.

I usually think I like the Bruins, but I end up almost always cheering against them. Maybe I just like them because they always beat the Leafs, lol. Also a bunch of them have won the cup, and I usually cheer for people that haven’t won. I do really like the Canes, though. They’re a fun team.

The puck would’ve been in Rask’s pads either way. Rask had more than enough time to get set, and it wouldn’t have went in the net if he wasn’t moving so frantically.
IMO that might have been goalie interference, but it didn’t result in a goal. If anything, Carolina should have gotten a penalty, but the goal should still count, since the Canes didn’t touch the puck at all before it went in the net.

There actually my second and third favorite team and Detroit is my favorite. I live in metro Detroit. Oh yeah btw, Metro detriot is very rich and very nice (one county has all the rich people though). Just to break the stigma

Rask would have been able to slide across the crease to at the very least cover the puck. Teravainen came across and knocked his stick out of his hand and took away any chance of rask being able to properly slide. It was classic goalie interference. doesnt matter what happens with the puck at that point, once teravainen makes contact he wasnt given a chance to re-establish position... i.e. puck is on the right side of the net, rask is on the far left post doesnt make too much sense.
Man, the Hurricanes are just getting burned by the refs this series. Hopefully they can win in spite of that.
Not sure how they are getting burned by the refs. its been a pretty evenly called series. I think the bruins only have 1 more pp chance which is saying alot considering the canes hold/hook/interfere almost every time the bruins are in the offensive zone... I think the issue we are both having is the level of intensity of the penalties. They are calling the questionable/soft/tickytack penalties and letting the real bad ones go for some stupid reason. applies to both teams.
@Kotkaniemi15 also full disclosure, i havent watched many of the other series to base it on other than tampa/columbus and they seem to be having the same issue. Tampa got away with absolute murder in the overtimes of that 5 ot game.
