Sanheim is apparently hit/boarded hard enough to cause a head injury, but doesn't require going through concussion protocol? Spotters need to be punished, officials need to be punished, training staff need to be punished. Or, Sanheim embellished and needs to be punished (sarcasm here, pointing out the bad concussion protocol here).

That certainly wasn’t embellishment. He didn’t do his best to protect himself, but how can you embellish a bleeding forehead?
I don’t understand how. Is it a 2 minute penalty? Absolutely. But he didn’t hit him in the head, so I have no idea how you can get ejected for that.
It was a dangerous hit head-first into the boards ... I'm not sure if he should have gotten the game misconduct, but I think a major penalty was reasonable.

@rangersandislesfan
I didn’t know about the weird head injury thing. This doesn’t make sense to me because players get bloody noses, or cuts from their visors because of clean hits all the time.
So I sort of understand why they were forced to call it due to the weird rule. A major without an ejection definitely makes more sense to me.

He clearly didn't embllish is the point, I should have added something to show sarcasm to that part of my post. He was hit into the boards at a bad angle and it was hard enough to cause an open wound, how does that not require a basic concussion tests? He was back into the game far to quickly for any meaningful test to have been performed.

That wasn’t head first into the boards. It was chest first, and his head hit the boards because of momentum. But I agree, a major penalty makes sense. I’m just sort of pissed that we don’t have KK for the rest of the game off of a play that he obviously didn’t mean to make.
I’d expect Niskanen to get a 1 or 2 game suspension for his hit on Gallagher. It was a hit directly to the head, which was so hard that it knocked a few teeth out.
