Your RFAs and UFAs are underpaid and no one is going to take Byron without giving back some caphit.

You just proved your VAN trade is too big to swallow.

Also, it's just a crazy amount of buyout money.

Other than Tatar, Gallagher and Danault who is under paid? Danault is underpaid on purpose BTW, he should be at 6 Mil ish but not as a 3rd or 4th line center.

KK's deal is a bridge deal and he has not earned a bigger raise yet. Armia comes in at between 3.5 and 4, Lehkonen between 3-3.5, and Virtanen is also on par with his value of between 3-4. So who is underpaid?

Byron still has value around the league and a 4th is fair.

You just named 7 underpaid players, even by your own standards. You have 1.7 Mil capspace. Make the maths.

Btw, bridge deals are dead and 4 years was never a bridge deal term in the first place.

How do you figure I named 7?
1. I outlined that Tatar and Gallagher took team friendly deals.
2. I also said that as a 3rd or 4th line center Danault is not worth more than 4-4.5 Mil.
3. Last I checked 3.5 mil is still between 3.5 and 4 (see Arimia) 3 was between 3-3.5 (see Lehkonen and Virtanen) (perhaps your just too bad at math to realize that on your own though)
4. KK was supposed to be a 3 year deal my mistake

BTW just for your information bridge deals are not dead, especially now with the flat cap!

I have A LOT of thoughts on what others have said about the RFA/UFA situation here, but I'll just say Domi's contract is not going to happen.
I see him taking that 5.5 AAV but not for more than 2 years.

For the VAN trade...those are 2 players that definitely cannot play Montreal-type hockey (Roussel and Beagle) so Mtl would never go after them. Also, would the Habs be acquiring Beagle for Laval because Mtl have enough 3rd-4th line centers. This trade doesn't make sense to me personally.

One more thing. I like Danault but I'm not his biggest fan. I think 60% of people see him as a 2C and 40% of people (including myself) see him as an excellent 3C.
BUT! In no WAY is he a 4C. He has most 5on5 minutes for the Habs Forwards I'm pretty sure.

Beagle and Roussel were buyouts to aquire Virtanen and a 3rd

Domi your probably right lets say his deal was for 2 years then.

That 4th line would really play as if it was a 3rd line shutdown role we would be rolling 4 lines pretty close to even with this lineup

VAN decline. They are not moving Virtanen. Also they don't need another small dman.
