Description

Virtanen is a solid middle 6 option. He had a career year with 36 points in 69 games mostly playing on the 3rd line.

When played in the top 6 he had 21 points in 25 games which shows his true potential. He was also one of the top 5v5 producers for the canucks. He does this all while being very physical and registering hits like they're nothing.

So I've created some trade scenarios, let me know which ones are close or far off, I'm very interested in what you guys have to say.

I largely created trades based on RHD that the canucks benefit from. They're weak at the rhd position.

Also feel free to create your own mock trades.

Virtanen had taken a big step forward this year but he isn't going to be the main piece in any trades bringing in a star defenseman or a young RHD

The Buffalo trade is fine, I doubt the Pegulas want to retain salaries on players especially this year.

Sweeney wouldn't include Carlo in talks a few years ago for Landeskog or Duchene....he's not about to include him in a deal for a kid whose P/GP double from his career average this year and still would have barley been a 40pt player.

These are all over the place in terms of value lol. Need to shoot a lot lower imo. Look at prospects and young guys, not established top 4 D-man.

I think Fabbro is nearly untouchable. NSH has very little RD depth and he is young, on an ELC, will be an RFA, and should be at least a solid top 4 D for years to come and could go as high as a number 2. I think that's harder to find than what Virtanen brings. It's easier to find players like Virtanen than Fabbro, so I just don't see the trade happening. I think Fabbro still has a ways to go to being that player, but I think he'll hit it.

Fabbro's the only young, cheap player in NSH's top 4. Hugely important to their future. He's in the it would take a ridiculous overpayment territory.

I think that's not good for the canucks, giving Calgary another big bodied player in the division. Plus I think Virtanen is better than the bread eater. Also I was thinking more rhd

He's at best a top four defender with some offensive upside. He was sent down a couple of times this season but is gonna stick with the team next season.

If the bruins have to choose between Carlo and krug, they’re keeping Carlo for sure.

The Flyers aren’t trading Myers.. they wouldn’t consider a trade that ships him out for a 3rd liner. He doesn’t fit a need with Voracek and TK ahead of him. Hard pass.
