The Sabres would need that pick to be conditional. If they miss the playoffs it bumps to 2022.

If Leafs end up with Laf I'll never watch the NHL again. (kind of joking).
I don't think anyone could argue the draft lottery needs revamping if Leafs/Oilers end up with Laf. I would call this drafting process a sideshow.

What is prompting the Canes to give up this year’s first for a probably worse first(considering the overpoweredness of these Leafs)? There is no reason for them to do this

If they get Laf, I think they should trade Marner for some help on D

And I am not a big fan of the Pietranglo siging at all. I have the feeling that this contract is not going to age well

There are 2 ways of seeing Kappy...

-the first one is seeing him as a 15-20 goal, gritty and speedy as hell 3rd liner

-the second one is seeing him as a 2nd liner stucked on the 3rd line.

I see him as the latter option

They're just the team I hate the most. Already have 2 number 1s overall, they do weird things to circumvent the cap the league doesn't try to curtail which really annoys me. Stuff like Lupul, clarkson...
A part of me also thinks Lou made the team bad to tank and get Matthews. But that's probably because I hate the Leafs so much.

I get what you mean... however the leafs have only ever picked 1st overall twice, in 85’ and 2016.
also the cap things are just smart, any team can do things like that. I do understand what you’re saying tho and I don’t really want to start an argument.

I love how I just said “cap” and “smart” in the same sentence talking about the leafs... 4 guys who cost them almost $40M 🤦‍♂️

Oh yes, 100% agree with you. Legal and smart, but they bothered me cause I felt like they were cheating and no one noticed. Lol again, purely borne out of my hatred for the buds.
I can't remember the last time the Habs picked first. Wickenheiser? Unfourtunately it wasn't even Hayley...

You’re completely right, it does kind of feel like cheating even to a Leafs fan lol
