No matter how desperate TOR is to shed cap, this would be a disastrous deal for them. Dermott alone has comparable value to Roy; they're both analytics darlings. As for Kapanen, you would not need to pay to get rid of him; he has value, unlike last year's Patrick Marleau deal.

Uhhh no... The leafs aren't going to lose Dermott (and Kappy on top of that) just to save cap, he's pegged as Barrie's replacement essentially because it'll be Muzzy vs Tj for who gets a contract, and Ceci will be replaced by TL or Sandin.

You don't cap dump by moving small contracts if you're Dubas. This just isn't the direction.
