BUF is going to have to send quality back if they want the quality of Strome. These are parts and pieces.

His buyout can give us a better return than that.

I don't think the Hawks are in the same boat as they used to be when they desperately needed to shed cap. I don't think they should shed any cap at the cost of additional assets.

Seabrook lol. Zac Smith but he's not changing the value enough for you to get Strome this cheap

A buyout is a cap dump tou are giving up an asset cap space to get the players full cap hit off your books and off of your roster.

I do I was referring to when you guys apparently buyout Smith and Maatta they will be cap dumps also not just Seabrook who is too expensive to dump elsewhere or buyout

It is so hard to read what you typed. It's like a giant run-on sentence every time. I have no idea what you're talking about.

Strome was barely a 1 WAR player this season per the twins. All this Quantity>Quality talk isn’t warranted for this level of player. Especially for a bad team that Has serious Cap concerns.

A.) The team doesn't have nearly the cap issues you're talking about. B.) With that logic Casey Mittlestadt is officially a bust. Zero chance of hacking it on the 4th line ever. So, again quality > quantity

How do you guys have money to re-sign Kubalik, Strome and sign two goalies? Is someone gonna be on LTIR?

IF...Big IF no one wants Maatta. We can save $3.5M buying him out. We can also send Zach Smith down to Rockford and thats enough to make it happen.

Mittelstadt is younger and cheaper. Still has 3rd line potential.

Age curves show that a F peaks around 23-4, so Strome is pretty much what he is going to be most likely.

Just saying that acting like Strome is in the same stratosphere in terms of value as the other Young Cs (Domi, especially Cirelli) is incorrect and foolish.

And don’t get me started on his xGAR....

You bring up stats with zero understanding of what you're talking about. He was sidelined for a few weeks with an ankle injury and when he came back....They played him at WING! They tried Kane out at center back in 2012 too! Kane got 66 points that season. Those are the two dumbest moves I've seen the Hawks make in my entire life. Strome is a center and scored 80 points in 95 games while playing center.

I mentioned higher level statistics than you did. Anyone can give me HockeyDB pts per game stats. I get the context point, but my point still stands. He’s just not worth what CHI fans think.

I'm not sure what Pigeon means, but context means more than advanced stats. You can't take the stats of an AHL player and say that's what will happen in the NHL. You also can't say Pekka Rinne was the best goalie last year because he scored a goal against the Hawks. I hear you're advanced stats. I'm not disagreeing. I'm saying IF you choose to use advanced stats. You can't just choose advanced stats for one part of the argument and ignore it for what you think benefits your side.

Advanced stats means Casey Mittelstadt is officially a bust. Can't score, Can't defend, Can't win a faceoff. Case closed, write him off? That's what advanced stats say. You're going to bring up that they're a year and a half different in ages. OK, that's context. I accept your context. He's not officially a bust. I agree. The difference between winger and center is huge. Especially when you A.) haven't played it even in juniors and B.) it was a surprise and C.) it's coming back from a minor ankle injury. Quality > Quantity
