To me this lineup makes the most sense but it involves breaking up the Danault line ....him playing on 4th line I think is a clear indication he will get traded. He’s not even playing wing on 3rd line ahead of guys like lehkonen and Byron. Makes no sense to me if he is here to stay

Why ? Suzuki didn’t play last year. We didn’t know Suzuki would be that good right away.

Some will also say that it’s to take away his negociate power and reduce the value of his next contract

Uh, no. He’s not that bad on the wing, and there’s no other reason to trade him.

No, that’s just Claude Julien trying to make all 4 lines a threat, which I think is the best way to try to beat Pittsburgh.

I think Montreal should extend Phillip Danault instead and trade Domi.

Why not keep both?

Because a Danault-Suzuki-Kotkaniemi center core could be one of the best if KK breaks out, you can find use Domi to get back another position of need.

If we can get a top 4 RHD back for Domi I’d jump on it. But IMO that’s unlikely, so I’m expecting him to stay in Montreal.

idk how much of Tatar we've seen on the RW to make this work. The Tatar/Danault/Gallagher line is so good 5-on-5 because of those zone entries and short passes on the forehand.
It seems like some bad juju to mess with it, or to mess with Tatar's position.
I could see Suzuki take Danault's spot, he's such a good passer and he's got a good hockeyIQ, don't know if switching to a right-handed centre would change the chemistry ..

Max Domi, please shoot the puck when you are in the slot.
Please do not pass the puck back to the point or across the ice again. For the love of holy, shooooot

Who would be your ideal RHD if I may ask

IDK. Someone around the same age as Domi with a similar cap hit to what Domi would get. Mostly someone that can take over Petry & Weber’s responsibilities as they age.

Domi on 4th line is a joke. He should be top 6 C or LW. I hope they keep him. It’s better having 4 capable top 9 C at all time (injuries).
