All fair deals, except Montreal. Buffalo will not trade Olofsson straight for Domi. Olofsson is already a better player in year 1. So without the Domi deal, team doesnt get much better.

Domi > Olof

I’m a sabres fan, but Domi is better and plays a more premium position.

You may be a Sabres fan, but you're deff wrong in this case. Olofsson was on pace for a 30 goal rookie campaign. How many 30 goal seasons has Domi had ? I understand Domi is a Center and BUF needs that but you cant get rid of one of your few young assets to get a guy that may get you 40-50 points. Not worth it.

What position “I want to be a center but I’m a winger”?
Don’t buy into one season where Domi scored 72 on a career high shooting percentage of 13.8% when he is a career 8.7% shooter and a 45-50pt producer.

Domi is better on wing and everyone knows it. He has had one season above 50 points. And had 44 points in 71 games meanwhile in his rookie year goalffsoon had 42 in 54. And before he got hurt he was averaging over point a game for about 2 months. Then we he came back he was still averaging a point a game without jack.

It isn’t even close in my opinion domi is could player but I think we have seen his peak and can at best hope for 50 points. Meanwhile, Olofsson has limitless potential after being on pace for over 60 and 30 goals his rookie year.

Yeah, not trading Olofsson especially not in the division. Also not giving up Thompson just to move Hutton. Sign a cheap backup then bury him in Rochester, done. I’d give up a couple picks for Domi but I’m not overpaying.

How can you say Domi is better on the wing. His 72 point season he was playing centre. All the seasons he spent in Arizona he was on the wing and his production was way down.

Also, money. Domi is due to get paid first. So we would be giving up goals and points, while taking on a player that will have the bigger cap hit. So we gain some intensity with domi and a one way center with ok offense. We can find a placeholder center somewhere else, we are screwed if cozens doesnt work out anyways. Moving olofsson is just borrowing from peter to pay paul.

One season!!!! If he is such an elite center then why would a team without a 1c keep trying to trade him?

Because MTL does have a 1C and 2 others on the way. Danault might not be O'Reilly yet, but Habs recognize his talent and he likes it here, so we won't trade him ...

He is good defensive forward but like cerelli he will never be a 1c or more then 60 point player. Meanwhile the others have shown no signs of being anything close to 1c.

In my eyes I think their are only 20 legit 1c in the league right now. Montreal does not have one in organization unless domi is 74 point player u are trying to trade?

Do you know who else is a reliable 60 pts player? Stanley cup champion and Conn Smythe winner first line center Ryan O'Reilly. Heard of him?
