MTL draft Sanderson and Askarov

****

Since Primeau will be stock being Price and CHI will need a starter in a year or 2, this could make senses. Askarov could develop in the KHL for 5-6 years

Anything that involves our first is basically off limits unless we get a 1st back. We arent trading an 9th OA for a goalie as a centerpiece when they could just grab Askarov in the draft.

Askarov is the best goalie prospect since Vasilievskiy, no way that they pass on him for a goaltender with a borderline starter upside

He already explained that Askarov won't be ready when Chicago would need a 1G... and Primeau would be.
But I agree... Habs would need to add or take a little cap dump to make it happen... not named Seabrook or Shaw

They re-sign crow for a year or two or get one of the many other goalies in FA. And using the 8th pick for dumps is stupid asset management. Nothing really could be done to get the 9th pick to the Habs

He's more than a "borderline starter upside" but agree it'd be hard for CHI to stomach trading one of the most hyped goalie prospects for 7th round pick Primeau -- even if CHI judges the quick upside a worthwhile avenue.

Never said Centerpiece, MTL could had one of Danault or Domi and CHI adds something. The only interesting piece in CHI for MTL is that 1st rd pick

Someone is just a classic habs fan who think that every prospects they have is a star...Remember when you considered Lindgren and McNiven as futur starter...Primeau is good in the AHL but he is not good or proven enough to justify all the hype that he receive from your fan base. Cory Schneider was traded for the 9OA in 2013 in a era where goaltender where more important to a team success plus he had already 100 NHL games under his belt with starter caliber stats...As of right now no team will give you more than a late first/early second for Primeau...

Wtf no ones ever said Lindgren McNiven would be starter, and Primeau looks good in the NCAA, AHL WCJ-20, 2 NHL games he played. Primeau + MTL ADD ( COULD BE DANAULT OR DOMI ), I’m asking you what do you want including Primeau + vs 2020 1st. I never said Primeau vs that 1st straight up

Askarov is one of the youngest KHL goalies ever at 17 you arent trading the possibility of drafting a player that has already done well in an actual pro league already for a 7th rounder who has been only okay in the AHL but good in 2 single NHL games.. NCAA is also a very low scoring league you dont get many if at all PPG players there in any given season. A goalie posting a .920 and above there isnt a unique feat limited solely to Primeau

He won best goalie of the NCAA, yes a lot of players are scoring a PPG. He wasn’t ok he was great with in AHL with a bad team in front of him, look at Kinkaid Lindgren numbers, same team in front of them. He’s made the rookie all star team in the AHL, everywhere is going he’s solid. He doesn’t have Elite potential but Starter easily. Primeau was drafted in the 7th round pick he’s goalie coach talked bad about him that’s why NHL team passed on him. Everything that coach said wasn’t true so he’s a steal in the 7th round.
