Montreal vs Minnesota would be the worst.

I agree it would be boring, but for the isles they don’t score a lot because of trotz system.

If fairness, at least those are two huge hockey markets which would make it fun, plus the whole American vs Canadian team adds to the dynamic. The Isles fan base is pretty small, and if college football and the NFL somehow get up and running, the Dallas market isn't going to care much about hockey.

I wish the Sabres would use a trap system like the Islanders. I wouldn’t care if my team wins in a boring fashion.

I get that, but trotz needs to open up the system a bit. Barzal is the best transition player in the NHL, the islanders do not have the elite shooting talent right now to be playing a “quality over quantity” style. Sure the dump and chase limits turnovers but it comes at the expense of offense.

1) the stands will be empty in either of those two cities (what are they going to send reporters and TV crews thousands of miles to shoot b-roll footage of people socially distancing?). 2) having a Canadian team in it makes it worse as you have to hear about it non-stop. 3) The Cinderella story was played out when St. Louis did it. 4) Neither team plays that fun a brand of hockey (really any of those 4 teams do) 5)Montreal had a losing record against Detroit during a historically bad year and is only in the playoffs because of some made up Gary Buttman thing---> time to embarrass him with talk of a bad draft lottery and bad Stanley Cup outcome

Montreal is really bad. Buffalo had 3 more regulation wins in 3 less games. Sabres just didn’t have any consistency win streaks and losing streaks, plus injuries to important players didn’t help.

canes are actually good. if they get healthy they have a lot of fun players to watch like TT, Aho, Hamilton, Svech, etc..

minnesota is an already boring team against van. Imagine them in the final
