if krug does walk, they have a silly amount of cap space to make a big splash via trade or F/A

Correct, Roster seems pretty good to me and Boston is known for their fiscal responsibility so I'm not sure they make a UFA splash.

Yep. Krug has the potential to turn into that on the backend of the deal too.

That good team with that much cap space...

Bruh.

I'd absolutely try acquiring a few rental assets such as Brodin and Palmieri to the roster...

There are rumblings in boston that dubrusk might not be an easy sign. I can't see him taking so little

Really? I like to think I follow the Bruins pretty closely and I haven't heard this. The only thing that I've heard is his agent say (in regards to a team friendly deal) “I don’t really consider that at this point. Will it play into it? Maybe.

DeBrusk has also said he wants to wait till after the playoffs to talk a deal because he wants to focus on helping the team win. I don't think signing DeBrusk is as big of a deal as people are making it out to be. I'd imagine they are also trying to figure out what Krug is going to do because that kind of dictates the route they go with DeBrusk.

I've been saying around 3yr/$3.4 million a year for DeBrusk. That makes him an RFA at the expiration, but also gives himself a chance to net some 30G seasons and increase his value, plus by that time the cap picture going forward should be much more clear post COVID (hopefully were not dealing with this in 3yrs anyways). This is also around the time a lot of the older core will see their contracts coming to an end or will have already ended.

Long term they probably would be looking for something in the 6-7yr/$5.5 to $6 million range.

Good trade! (maybe the devils retain some on that and the bruins have space to resign krug anyway?)

Like Palmieri a ton but I would want Sweeney to get someone younger with term.
