Uh what the f*ck is that edmonton trade. Vesalainen for JP makes sense, why the hell do you have ehlers In there too?? He’s worth more than a 1st&3rd lol. Only trade with EDM I’m doing involving ehlers is for RNH.

Yeah, that's what I was about to point out, EDM takes it and runs, asking NO QUESTION

That Oilers trade sucks for the Jets, Chevy should be fired for a trade like that.

Ehlers is the only piece would want of that deal. Jp + 1st +3rd is just too much for Ehlers. Not exactly far to say jp doesn’t have that type of ceiling we haven’t had an opportunity to fairly see what he can do yet.

Except that really isn't accurate. Do you realize how rare are elite wingers who can score 25 goals in their sleep and who also play an ELITE 200 foot game. If you don't want Ehlers, that's fine lol WIN isn't moving him, but pretending JP and a bunch of a late 1st rounder and a late 3rd rounder are worth Ehlers isn't true. At all

Then you're 100% in the wrong he's be your best 2 way player by fair while also being your 3rd best player, behind 97 (1st), Drai (2nd) and above RNH(4th) and Yamamoto(5th)

Would respectfully agree to disagree with ehlers value. I do really like him not knocking his game just asking a bit too much in my opinion.

I'd prefer if NSH didn't give multiple picks for a $3m 4th liner with a flat cap next year - I dont think this deal makes sense for them. They need to add a top 6 forward(s), not this.

No way is Ehlers better than Nugent-Hopkins, but this trade isn't equal value. The only issue I see here for Edmonton is cap - they have no way of fitting Ehlers in without doing some other juggling.

The trade above I would take and run, no question. Nugent-Hopkins' "rel teammate" are going to be poor as they are essentially comparing him to McDavid and Draisaitl. When he plays with Draisaitl (as he did for half of the recent season) he posts elite numbers, when he plays center he's usually stuck with bottom-6 guys for wingers. Also, Nuge's much better on the PP than Ehlers, he plays PK regularly and he's a center. I wouldn't trade Nugent-Hopkins for Ehlers 1-for-1, although that really isn't the question here.

Great argument - I'll have to remember that one. Here's what happens when Nugent-Hopkins plays with skill:

Ok...

Ehlers has more offensive impact alone and is a better defensive player.

Imagine thinking rnh is better than ehlers, let alone has more value.

The onnly thing I give RNH over ehlers is that he’s a C.....

Ehlers stats like @mondo showed are waaaaay better. That’s also taking into account the time nuge spent with good players in 2020 lol. Nuge isn’t a great PKer, he’s decent on the PP and is decent offensively 5on5. He really has no defensive game.... ehlers is good on the pp, really good offensively 5 on5 and good in his own end. I do agree with you he’d be the 3rd best player on the team. The guy would probably put up 85+ pts in his sleep with mcdavid.
