What do you think he's worth? What needs to be amended in this trade?

If I’m florida I think I accept, I don’t see them winning anything with their current core. Huberdeau could reel them a huge package like that that could help them be a very dangerous contender 3-5 years down the road

I see Huberdeau and Rantanen as pretty close in value. Would you accept that type of trade for Rantanen??

Huberdeau is madly underrated, but Colorado would regret paying all that for him. Byram is a stud, and giving away two first round picks is a pretty major risk.

Different situations. Colorado is entering a window of contention and looking to add. Florida is allegedly looking to cut salary. Assuming the rumor about the Panthers cutting costs is true, then Byram and first round picks are what they probably need.

That said, I don't think Huberdeau gets traded yet. It might happen eventually, but they have time to see if they can right the ship and don't need to do anything rash.

You must be out of your mind.

Take a look at the direction FLA is headed. Why on earth would they want Rantanen when the roster is screaming for a rebuild.
Also, why on earth would COL ever consider it? They are in cup contention for the next 3 years, why would they subtract from the roster to add Huberdeau?
COL doesnt move stud roster pieces, and FLA needs picks and prospects

Maybe just Byram, a 1st, and Donskoi would be more realistic. That being said, I highly doubt Florida considers moving Huberdeau, he only makes 5.9 million and is a proven PPG player.

He wasn't saying that Huberdeau should get traded for Rantanen. It was a comparison of value, not a proposal.

That's how I see it as well. Maybe we could remove Jost as others are saying, or downgrade one of the 1sts to a 2nd. I also think Florida would strongly consider accepting this. But it would be a pretty huge step back from their push involving Bob last year.

Pilut will just leave if he’s a healthy scratch. I’m sure he’s making more than $950,000 in Russia too. Plus Buffalo declines.

It might be regretful, but Colorado have a strong top 6 D group even without Byram, and with Makar, Girard, and Timmins we have 3 PPQB's as well. Adding Huberdeau would make this team THE defacto cup favourite for the next 3 years.

Pilut would have to get at least 40 games in order to be the Dman exposed in the Expansion Draft. And then when Cole heads to UFA Pilut would become the 6D. So there's a clear path for him with Colorado.

He heard the same thing in Buffalo. And still was always in Rochester or in the press box.

I wasn’t saying to trade Rantanen there. I was saying that both Rantanen and Huberdeau have equal values. If you were to trade Rantanen would you trade him for a package like that? I wouldn’t, so then I don’t think that Florida would trade Huberdeau for that package.

The difference is that Rantanen is signed for another 5 years and Colorado are a contender. Florida are a bubble team and Huberdeau and Barkov are UFA's in 2-3 years.

Yes different situations but you don’t trade a 90 point winger in Huberdeau for 2 third liners, 2 late firsts and a top prospect in Byram. I personally just wouldn’t do it, I think there would be much better offers

Agreed but I still think Florida could get a better deal from elsewhere
