Dont think Buffalo is interested in this. Change Joki for Montour or just make it the 8th overall by itself

I don't see Tampa trading Cirelli but this trade was interesting from a Buffalo fan. Tampa would also have some flexibility in the lineup, as they could move gugs like Foote, Barre-Boulet and Joseph up and switch things up with them and Volkov and/or Mittlestadt depending on how they're doing. Tried to keep Rutta but unless he took a very team friendly 1 year deal, probably not. He could potentially be switched for Bogosian though and then have him with Hedman(which was effective this year) and have Jokiharju with Serg and have Schenn or Gaunce be the 7th.

Tampa likely declines both offers. They aren't interested in a pick that's minimum 2 years away from helping, and Montour doesn't do it due to his cost.

Tampa would likely do it for Joki+2020 2nd(if they were actively shopping Cirelli), as Mittlestadt doesn't have a lot of value for Tampa, as he'd be 50/50 whether he'd even make the team or just be in Syracuse to start and be a possible call up.

Not on TBL but possibly. Strong defender, gritty and with a few more minutes probably good for 25 plus points.

I agree with this and I think he'd fit well as a 3C for Edmonton. He should get a 3rd or a 4th wherever he's moved.

Maybe, maybe not, but any deal that doesn't start with Cozens or Joki Tamps isn't accepting anyway. Tamps is 99% keeping Cirelli, just using a Buffalo fan's trade idea to show how Tampa could make it work.

I'll bet a lot of money that either TB loses Cirelli or Serg
Or they lose the next 2-3 1st rs picks in moving players

Then you'll be losing a bunch of money I guess. Tampa keeps the rfas they want to keep, and both of theae guys are very happy in Tampa. Tampa may add a 1st round pick if they move Killorn, but you can take long odds that they'll be trading any 1sts to move contracts.

CIrelli for the 8th OA. Take it or leave it. Not trading Joki

At any given point in time, every team’s fanbase has a good young player who they rate far higher than they should. (They usually turn on him two years later, he gets traded, on goes on to have a respectable career).

Jokiharju is that guy right now for Buffalo. Of course he is available if Cirelli is the return.

I think the Sabres would want a piece like a Joseph coming back, or a lesser futures piece substituted for Casey. And/or they would be willing to take on a cap dump in order to reduce what they give up.
But the offer for Cirelli is certainly in the ballpark.

Lol where are they finding the money to do all of this??
And if everyone loves Tampa as much as they say then they aren't moving NMCs. So that leaves rfas? So something has to give somewhere my guy

Easily leave it. Tampa has traded 1sts to add depth and prepare for the loss of a couple role players. For where they are at, the last thing they will be doing is moving their future core players for lottery tickets. Again, no problem if there's no trade, as Tampa isn't really shopping Cirelli. If a team wanted him though, it's a deal like this that would have to be offered to entice Brisebois to consider moving him. The 8th pick does nothing in that regard.

The money has already been found in multiple rosters for next year. No point in discussing it with people like you who have already taken the mindset that no one in Tampa would ever waive, when Tampa needs just one guy to do so. There are more than a few reasons why one of the three might, which have been posited by different posters on multiple sites. You can get back to Tampa fans if they ever do lose guys that they really didn't want to lose(of course even then posters like that will have been right one whole time in 6 years, good track record...). Until then, just like the last 5 years, it'll be nothing but whining about unfair advantages or just crickets when Tampa once again keeps their players on reasonable bridge deals/contracts.

I think Tampa would offer a younger player like Joseph in a combo deal. Something like Cirelli+Joseph for Joki, Mittlestadt, '21 2nd I could see, or Cirelli+Joseph for Joki, '20 2nd and Asplund. I don't see Tampa taking salary back as they can't and still manage the cap. If Tampa was actually shopping Cirelli though, a deal around Joki or Cozens I still believe would be possible.
