The draft pick NYR used to get him was originally ours, passed through two other teams before New York though so this is super thin

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but Jokiharju was never very good to begin with.

Joker would have made a very good 3rd liner. Nylander so far is nothing more then a bottom 6. I think Nylander has more natural talent at his position then Joker has at his, but Nylander seems to be scared when the hitting starts so let's see if he can grow a pair

Can’t be more than bottom 6 if you play him for less than 4th line minutes every night.

There's a reason he sees the bench more often then not...when he gets scared of his own shadow on the ice, well then

I’d be scared too if one mistake meant I was glued to the bench.

Not just that, he's clearly a ****ing idiot. All the brain cells in that family went straight to Willy, however small an amount they may have been. Any offensive talent he has is cancelled out by the sheer stupidity of 4-5 plays he makes every night. Traded for that guy who "wasn't very good to begin with," despite having Tarasenko stapled to his pocket lining the entire night of his first NHL game...

One mistake? It's repeating the same mistakes over and over.

Yeah, and was then buried in the AHL for the rest of the regular season. Obviously our brass didn’t like him.

Bad habits are hard to break, I think you are over exaggerating. Nylanders first year here went better than Jokiharju’s first year in buffalo.

Our "brass" is more like dented aluminum, and their stupidity is not even remotely a reflection on how good Jokiharju would have been for the team right now. So let's stop trying to pave over this giant Nylander failure, and even if you must, don't do it at a quality young defenseman's expense.

This is false equivalency. Just stop making foolish comparisons.

What is quality about Jokiharju exactly? Is it the fact he was our 3rd best defensive prospect among the likes of Boqvist, Mitchell, Beaudin and Vlasic among an already crowded right side?

Is it his expansion draft status, meaning we would have to protect him over Murphy, despite the fact that Murphy is our best defensive D-man and arguably more important than Joki with said prospects in line

Or is the fact that he was the first serviceable (had an okay 38 games) defenseman developed by Chicago since Hammer?

What was so special about him? Really?

Says the guy who based his opinion on Jokiharju on a good game against the blues, instead of the 1.5 seasons he's been in the league.
