Then Rags fans are delusional. They think their guys are worth far more than they are actually worth.

Some of the Ranger fans on here hilariously over rate their players.

You traded our first line RWer and a young potential starter for a top 4 defenseman and a 14th F. First rounder is a stretch but the value is definitely on CGY side here.

You mean a RW that happens to play on the top line - He's a product of his linemates. And even then he's a 50 point guy along side elite talent. He's enticing in the role of playing with two better players, as he can keep up with them. However his talent alone is about that of a fringe 2nd liner.

Georgiev's stats largely reflect one hot streak. I don't really see him as a strong starting candidate. Besides, goalies hardly ever pull the return they deserve. It's fairly consensus that he's worth a late 2nd.

I'd assign Buch the value of a late first. I don't think it's all too unfair to call Hanifin, a young defenseman on the rise on a nice contract, worth a 1st and a 2nd. Sure, I can remove the pick swap - but anything else is a severe overvaluation of the Ranger players.

Take out the picks and its fair value IMO, but we'd still decline

All I ever hear is "product of linemates" any time a player is good on the Rangers lmao.

Hanafins stock has fallen a bit and while Ranger fans on this site are insane, value is on CGYs side. Id say take out the picks and maybe do a Bennett for Howden swap, Quinn would love Bennett and I think Howdens talented to turn it around with another organization. Maybe throw a 3rd or 4th going to CGY as well

Because the Rangers structure is to play two stronger talents with one other that doesn't fit the category. Fast isn't a 2nd liner because he plays on the 2nd line. If Buch was given third line minutes, he wouldn't really be carrying the weight of the team and get 50 points there too. Kassian, Chiasson, 2018 Ferland, Yanni Gourde, Alex Iafallo and Blake Coleman* are all similar, where they are given more responsibility their actual skillset represents, but to where they can hold their weight - but once taken from that position fade away. Buch is NOT a top liner himself.

Would you trade Lindholm, Rittich, and a second, for Ryan Lindgren, Brett Howden and a fifth? Thats a starter-ceiling goalie and a first line winger for a pairing 2 defenseman and a struggling 4th liner. Then to think the Rangers add a high draft pick, as if that evens it out...Canadian hockey fans don't give their own delusions enough credit

This is what I am talking about, you pretty much summed up my case perfectly with your terrible comparisons.

Buchnevich << Lindholm
Lindgren << Hanifin

It's actually incredible to me that you think they are equals.

If this is your attempt at being a comedian, you're doing a darn awful job.

Totally correct - and I am not even a flames fan. Buchnevich isn't in the same tier as Lindholm, and Lindgren is far less proven (and also worse) than hanifin. Not to mention that Rittich is obviously better than Georgiev.

This is what I think. The value is good, it just depends on whether the Rangers want to give up offense for s defenseman when they have more prospects coming along on defense as it is.

But you're seeing how ridiculous the concept is...Its our 1st line RW getting better by the year and a stud goalie, for a 2nd pair defenseman. And you're asking NYR to add value still. You don't that doesn't make sense
