oilers don't do that. They are trying to contend and switching drai with laf isn't gonna help

Main thinking here is Texier could be a very solid 2C. Given the fact they currently have RNH and you would also add Josh Anderson that could provide Edmonton cap flexibility along with giving McDavid some wing help.

CBJ doesn’t do that to trade a young center a future 1st line winger in laf and an additional 1st for a team like cbj who needs to continue to build and round out their team it’s to much for one person

Laf, Texier, Anderson and another 1st for Drai... I think not. Drai is great but Laf is supposed to be one of the best prospects since McDavid...

You don’t trade a 50 goal 100 point centre on a great contract period. Lafreniere could end up being elite but there is no guarantee, Draisaitl has already proven he’s elite.

It is very interesting trade.
I think the value is there on both sides, but neither team does the trade.
Leon is just too much to give up from Oilers perspective.
And the Jackets are very high on their 1st Round picks as well as very high on Texier. His ceiling is high (not Draisatl level, but high). I would think the anticipation of having Laffy would be enormous. He could be the type of talent like Panarin that it doesn’t matter if he plays with an average center, he would be that good as to bring the entire line up to his level.

He has the upside of Draisaitl but no guarentee vs actually have Drai. Not the biggest fan of him but 5 more years at 8.5 for a team that needs a 1C in front of Dubois... Edmonton declines but CBJ would be silly not to do this

The only question is...will Lafreniere pan out? I agree that Jackets probably shouldn’t do it. Simply because Lafreniere would be cost controlled and has more years to be the face of this franchise. But Drai is a proven commodity and plays center. Him and Dubois down the middle would be very imposing.
