Yeah ok a top six center for a bottom six prospect and a second's obviously right on the money ... Some are hyping him because of one 74 points season but nonetheless he's still at the very least a second line center bringing energy and scoring but you think a bottom six prospect and a mid second. Heck Montreal paid two seconds for an injury prone Shaw and you're saying Domi's worth less?

? The guy is young and a 50-70 point player. I think a B-level prospect and a second round pick is not going to be enough.

Look, I get it. For some reason, everyone thinks that Habs fans are annoying. I personally see "out there", "pie-in-the-sky" deals and trades for all teams on this site, not just the Canadiens. Fans typically overvalue their own players (it's common). It'll be fun to see what the Canadiens do wih Domi, just as it's fun to see what all teams do with their players. The one thing I do know: I'm not a GM. One thing that I strongly think I know: you are not a GM either. smile

What is the point of both the Petry deal and the Lehkonen deals....they are terrible for Montreal. Domi is worth more than that, maybe if you switch the 2020 2nd for Minny's 2020 1st.....maybe.

In what world would Montreal not only trade Petry for two complete nothings, but massively retain on him?

I said that tongue-in-cheek.

All trades are setting up the future of the Habs while keeping cap space to sign some of the core who are UFA at end of next season.
Look beyond the now...

Petryy is a cap dump, he is soft defensively and hasn't got the Habs to the playoffs in three years...time to love on. Bracco fills a need for AHL if nothing and Petan is a press box player.

Sometimes in hockey you have to lose trades to achieve the goal. Do you think my edition of the Habs makes MTL better? We retained every pick this season while retaining an additional 2nd.

Yeah...I don't see that Wild trade happening. I would take it in a heartbeat but your value is WAY off on this.

I see. Zucker and Domi have similar numbers, should i ask for a conditional 1st, a roster player and Addison?

Yes. We wouldn't do it, but now you're at the value of Domi. Zucker = A late 1st, expendable depth player, and Addison. We're in a different position than Pittsburgh so you would probably be better off trading to a contender to maximize value, but that is around what Domi is worth.

I think Addison should be considered to be on the Wild's untouchable list. Asking for someone like Beckman wouldn't be unreasonable though.

Stick to the 2nd and make up the difference with a 4th in this year's draft.

I watched Montreal tonight. Petry looked damn good for a cap dump. I would much rather have him than Shattenkirk.
