Description
Alright, so... the odds of Vancouver getting knocked in the play-in round AND also winning the draft lottery are slim. Very, very slim. We know that. But what if they manage to pull it off?

Do you automatically move out Eriksson and a 1st, because who cares about the pick when you have Pettersson, Hughes, Boeser etc in your lineup.

You gotta assume Baertschi is gone one way or another. Whether it’s trade or termination or what have you.

Do you keep the roster looking like this and wait for the cavalry that is Podkolzin and Hoglander next year, or do you go out and resign Toffoli, or sign a Hoffman/Dadonov like player? Do you resign Tanev or try to find a cheaper option? Would Barrie be an option? Would he take a hometown discount? What about Shattenkirk? Do Rathbone and or Juolevi push for that 3rd pairing spot? What about Rafferty?

So many IFs. But here you go.

Threw in Hog, Pod, and Lind so you can see the depth that’s coming up.

IN MY OPINION canucks will NOT use a first to trade louie.we used a first to land jt miller. would you trade miller to get rid of louie? There is this misconception out there we are desperate to loose louies contract. i dont think its true its mostly other teams that think this.It is gonna be hard to become cap compliant by next yr no doubt but throwing away picks wont happen. this is strictly MY opinion. no disrespect intended.

buy out Sutter for immediate relief
bury Baertschi and Eriksson for a bit more relief and see where your at.
none of these cost an asset

in terms of importance of re-signing i think it goes Markstrom, then Toffoli, then Gaudette, then Tanev and then Virtanen. it really depends on how much each guy wants to see how far down the list you can get. if you run out of money i think that will depend on what asset(s) you are willing to give up to sign the guy(s) that are left.
